But agree with the sentiment that while this is a pretty bad gerrymandering (it really is)...necessary while there are so many unlevel playing fields across the country.

The Republicans have done similar gerrymandering in basically every state they control for decades. I should know.

More than two-thirds of the public believe at least one false or unproven health claim — such as the idea that taking paracetamol during pregnancy causes autism — a new survey finds. The results hint that a large, and potentially growing, number of people are questioning scientific evidence.

The survey, of more than 16,000 people across 16 countries, asked whether they believed claims that are not supported by research, including that the 'risk of childhood vaccinations outweighs benefits', 'fluoride in water is harmful' and 'raw milk is healthier than pasteurized'.

For each statement, between 25% and 32% of respondents said they believed it, and another sizeable percentage (17–39%) said they didn't know whether it was true. In total, 70% of respondents believed at least one of the claims (see 'Divided views'). The findings, which have not been peer reviewed and were published today by the Edelman Trust Institute in New York City, were described as 'staggering' in an accompanying article by the think tank's chief executive, Richard Edelman.

Well, not surprising at all. Remember, we had an otherwise well informed member of language tell us not so long ago that the restrictions on raw milk where because of regulators caving in to big milk producers.

Carlson's anti-zionism will be have some influence, unfortunately. But, then again, he has re-invented himself so many times. Churchill wasn't exactly a fan of the Jews, now, was he.

Carlson's travel from being an acceptable conservative at CNN to outright nut on and after FoxNews is... somewhat disturbing. His claims of election fraud were not backed up by his private texts. So, he will do whatever it takes to be contrarian and feed people lies.

No, that's not the explanation. Although you're correct that about 1/3 have become far right populists. People other than far right  populists are falling for the misinformation machine that is social media and beginning to believe that things like raw milk are healthy for the general population.

Well it is a spectrum. This kind of insanity used to just be a tiny percentage of the far left. Like weirdos in California used to be anti-vaccine because they were not natural and shit. We are supposed to listen to our bodies and all that. But now it has busted containment and spread all through the right wing.

But it is kind of remarkable how consistently it is between 25% and 33% of the country believes the most insane shit and supports Donald Trump no matter what...even if it is not 100% the same people in each area.
