Tried infinity challenge but couldn't get into it.  Watched earth arcade when they went to portugal. Random YouTube things, which i guess is more interviews than variety shows.

It all started because of youtube actually, because I watched some news clip about a kpop suicide 6 or 7 years ago then got recommended a bunch of korean content. Went on from there
Running Man is a classic

It's still good, but I don't watch it as much. Jee seok is my favourite now. I mainly like the randomness of it, compared to western stuff.

As a fan of the original series I've been watching the new king of the hill.  Started rough but gets much better. Some of the voice changes has been jarring. The changes are understandable (deaths and social realities) but some are trying much more then others. Chieng is a good comedian but a lousy voice actor. Shame as khan was my favorite character. New Joseph is good though and tried hard to match the original voice.

Squid Game, S3. I think it managed to stay OK all the way, but of course S3 is essentially the final half of the story begun in S2. Hope they don't make an S4, but I wouldn't have a problem with any of the possible spinoffs they hinted at.

Season 2 introduced the relationship between the front man and 456. Season 3 did nothing with it. Disappointing.

Darth Wagtaros

Fantastic Four. Good movie.  Enjoyed the retro-futurism.

Every year our local independent theater shows Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy.  A couple years ago I decided to gear up and read all of the books before watching it and, upon completing thought "Why would I watch the movie, the books are so much better?"  This year I did decide to watch them again, and I've made it through "The Fellowship of the Rings." (2001)

I think the issue with trying to turn the books into a movie is best exemplified by the scenes where they depart from the Shire.  Gandalf knows (as do we) that the Ringwraiths are looking for Frodo.  He has a tense conversation with Frodo, they here a sound outside the window and discover that instead of being a Ringwraith it's only Sam; breaking the tension and giving us some comic banter.  This is fine film technique, the problem is the plot of the books requires our characters to meet up next at The Prancing Pony in Bree only to find Gandalf isn't there.  Gandalf promises to meet them at the Prancing Pony and takes off on his horse for Isengard - but the film later establishes that Isengard is a very long way off so it's unreasonable for Gandalf to believe he could make it to Isengard and back before the hobbits did.

It's still fun, though, I thought Cate Blanchett was perfect for her role; odd and unsettling enough to be an elf witch (though the special effects of her transformation scene now look poor.)  Liv Tyler was good enough, but even today when she said that she was going to take Frodo to her father, I found myself wondering "What's Steve Tyler going to do?  Throw a scarf around and sing?"
In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love, they had five hundred years of democracy and peace—and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock

Sinners. From Dusk Till Crossroads. Decent, I was entertained.

Show them how to walk this way.
It's a long trip to Mordor.

The Survivors, S1. In small-town Tasmania the shadows of the past fall long and dark. Nice kind of Nordic Noir feel but down under.

Monster Summer. Kids vs supernatural horror. It's OK for what it is (I like the retro cinematography), but it feels like someone describing a Stephen King movie. And the time setting is weird. It's 1997, but kids roam the neighborhood on BMX bikes, and no one, even the nerdy investigator kid, has heard of the internet. Sure, they namedrop T2 and X Files, but that's it. Feels like it was written to be the 80s and then marketing told them to make it 90s.

Wanted to watch something wholesome, so watched Spirited Away on Netflix. Absolutely loved it, though it was quite the trip. Sweet, wholesome, a bit scary, but a great ride. So many great and sweet moments. (I had not had the movie spoiled for me before watching, only thing I knew was the cover art with Chihiro and No-Face.)

Out of all the memorable characters, I probably most identify with the Radish Spirit. Just a chill dude.

Alien Earth, the two episode premiere.  It's good so far, my only complaint is that the xenomorph instantly turns everyone to hamburger except the main characters.

Of wholesome Sunday evening TV - friends fear he's fallen down a Morse rabbit hole

Would be a pretty short series otherwise.
