Yeah not so much change his tune as just do...nothing. Once the Biden aid runs out there will be no further overt military assistance from the US. Trump is certainly not one to spend political capital on cobbling together a new assistance package unless he perceives a major industrial advantage for the US.

He and many Republicans perceive Ukraine as a Democrat ally who was responsible for the 1st impeachment attempt.

Meanwhile the Europeans have lost about 15 years on rearmament, nuclear power, digitization, supply chains, AI, you name it.

How did the Euros lose 15 years on those things?

Heard an interesting argument the other day, that being on good terms with Ukraine going forward is a very useful thing indeed.
Ukraine has built up a huge amount of expertise and data in military drones and AI.
Russia will be sharing theirs with China. The west and friends need Ukraine to share theirs.
This looks probable for Europe. For the US as things stand....
In a complete turnaround the US might soon find its military hopelessly out dated.

I'll take that bet.

With the kind of manoeuvre warfare the US doctrine employs, I would hope they're working on anti-drone capabilities. And I don't mean jammers or electronic countermeasures. Those are unreliable as hell. You need to develop kinetic counters to fpv drones asap.

You sure?  You lost the last one with Grey Fox.  You have no constitutional order left to speak of and essentially have a king.

You've already lost against Iran, being unable to achieve a simple objective, despite overwhelming firepower and the help of the IDF.  Also, outside of slaughtering Yemeni civilians, that last action was a failure too.  And as we speak, the US military is not feeling the effects the imposed cuts, nor any of the the DOGE manoeuvers pulled by Musk's team before his departure.

The USA has lost against Iran, the Ayatollah himself said so.

They failed to achieve the objective set forward by the Commander in chief of the US Army.  The US intelligence report says so.

In the past, when an army ceded the field at the end of the day, not matter if the battle seemed like a tactical draw, it meant a loss.

I'm counting this one as a loss for the US.

A fuckton of military expenditures for not achieving its goals.

Well, since it allowed you to sound obnoxious and superior, the cost was worth it.

If this was 1943, you would be crowing that the US lost the war to Germany because the last B-17 bombing run did not force the Germans to surrender.
