Currently 32.6°C here, with a heat index of 39°C.  At 1100...  It's supposed to top out between 37°C and 38°C today.  Similar tomorrow. maybe a degree higher at the peak.  Then we break back to near-normal by Thursday (29°C to 30°C).

Woh, y'day was 32C here and that was more than enough for me.

35°C yesterday here, but then it was Fête de la Musique/Summer Solstice/Midsommar.
The Brain will be happy to know there was 'silly dancing' at the Swedish Cultural Centre in  Paris.  :)

That seems high to an Icelander. Where do you live?

We haven't had 30°C temperatures here since the 1930's.

Northern New Jersey.  What we're experiencing right now is high, and tomorrow will be near the record high for June.  We generally break 30°C about half the days in July and August, several days in June, and a few days in late May and early September.  Breaking 37.5, like we will today and tomorrow, is pretty rare.

crazy canuck

We are starting your new normal of Junuary, the beginning of Summer often feels like the beginning of Fall, just before the heat domes start up again.

Thanks I am always extremely interested in how fellow languishbros live their lives. I feel like I'm somewhat of a dumbass for not ever having met you in person.

It is what it is, everyone here has felt this exact feeling at some time or another.  :hmm:

Right now we are in the zone of 35C+ every single day...day after day...for months.

So that's fun.

.months? :yucky:   :console:

We have it a week at a time, a few times a summer. What's the humidity like in your neck of the woods? That the killer here. That and no breeze because of buildings.

The humidity is pretty bad. This is not a dry heat.

It just sucks. This time of year is crap and it just goes on and on and on. Fortunately air conditioning exists so we just stay inside as much as possible.

China crossed one terawatt of installed photovoltaics now according to it's government. About half of that was built last year. Unbelievable exponential growth there. They installed 93 gigawatt in May. Which is more than half the entire photovoltaic capacity of the United States.

At least 50% of that is painted canvas and cardboard tubes :P

Maybe, but even if the numbers are exaggerated as you suggest, the real growth would still be astonishing.

HVC

Indeed. And it pushes the rest of the world to follow along, which is very important

Makes sense. They don't have a ton of fossil fuel resources. They want energy independence.

I hope all energy importers follow suit. That will ultimately what takes down regimes like Iran, Russia, and Saudi Arabia.
