Because the proof of the putsching is in the eating ending of American democracy.

This is how I see the actions of ICE as beginning to line up with the SA:

As the SA grew, the organization continued to embrace violence. Storm Troopers aggressively interfered with the meetings of opposing political parties, fought in the streets with other paramilitaries, influenced elections, and intimidated Jews, Roma,  Communists, and Social Democrats—groups they believed were "enemies of Germany." For example, in March 1933 brownshirts in Königsburg ransacked the office of local Social Democrats, beat one of the Social Democrats to death, and then used the office as a torture location. In Wuppertal, eight SA members accosted an ex-bandleader of a Communist music group as he walked home one night, fatally shooting him.

I'll walk back the implication of ICE providing foot soldiers for an attempt to overthrow of the government - that is unnecessary since Trump already controls the government. I used putsch (incorrectly) to mean "destruction of American democracy".

I think it's shaping up that ICE is being used to harass political opponents and "undesirables" to cow organized opposition, much like the SA did.

The four year deadline is because I think the unequivocal proof for the destruction of American democracy will come no later than the next presidential election (but may come beforehand). Alternately, by the next presidential election the US may, somehow, pull back from the brink. We'll see.

There's the Newark mayor who was detained by ICE and the Wisconsin judge who was detained and now suspended from her job. There seems to be steady stream of stories of citizens being wrongfully detained, combined with Trumps stated desire to deport million+ people, the stated desire to avoid any kind of due process, and Stephen Miller's on the record statements about suspending Habeas Corpus.

Seems to me it's trending in the wrong direction.

Saw Trump signed an executive order for 20 000 more ICE agents. Gee, I wonder how they'll get so many well-adjusted individuals. I'm sure the recruiting process will be thorough.
