I wouldn't call shifts without comparing like for like, special elections are weird.  Ted Kennedy's seat went to some no name Republican whose name I don't remember, less than a year after Democrats blew GOP out of the water.  It didn't stay Republican for long.

The Wisconsin Supreme Court seat has been called for the Democrat, making Elon having just had a very expensive and unproductive vacation to the state.

Not entirely unproductive.  He could come away with a criminal indictment for bribing voters:

Yes, interesting test case of whether the Elon exemption from the laws of United States still applies.

And a wider case/question that I think the right are massively overinterpreting their mandate - and I think Musk is a significant part of that.

Not sure the Democrats will necessarily be well placed to take advantage. But I think there's a lot of overreaching going on.
