So apparently Trump mentioned that he didn't like the treaty establishing the US-Canada Border and that he didn't like our shared water agreements when talking to the Canadian PM. This and Trump just casually talking about Canada being the 51st state and referring to the Canadian PM as a governor. He is clearly threatening to annex all, or part, of Canada and taking their resources.

Insanity.

Well, yeah.

What do you think I have been saying?!
Getting ready to make IEDs against American Occupation Forces.

"But I didn't vote for him"; they cried.

I guess it is one thing to hear about his bluster on social media, another to learn he has been making these threats in private conversations with your Prime Minister.

Will European Nato countries go to war against the US when it invades Canada, with an unsecured flank in the East?
Women want me. Men want to be with me.

Considering all the times Canada came to the aid of the UK, it is kind of pathetic the UK has made no statement of support or assurances under these circumstances.

But it is still early on.

My expectation is "no". I'm no expert, but I believe that European NATO countries have neither the forces nor logistics to do much other than perhaps tell American forces to leave European soil.

That said, I would hope for a robust if clandestine funnel of European made advanced weaponry to Canadian guerillas (and any American rebels), though.

Charles said some nice things.

In the grand scheme of things canada isn't that important to europe, is it?

If there exists a "kill switch" for any US-made equipment at all, then I guess it's for the UK ballistic missiles. Can they even be targeted at the US, let alone launched?

I assume Europe would morally and emotionally be inclined to help Canada in the face of a US invasion, but practically speaking what could Europe do?

I expect sanctions - shutting down US services and tech companies' access to the EU - would be on the table. And, like I said, providing some potentially deniable materiel support to guerillas. What else is even remotely realistic?

Well there is this thing called the Commonwealth isn't there? Canada is a member?

It's not a military alliance though. As far as I know the CW has no military obligations to other members.

No. France might rattle some sabers, one of it's nuke sub is in Halifax today, otherwise we are alone.

depends on timing and on Europe actually following through with rearmament.
So now: not much.
In a few years: maybe something.

That's the  thing with Trump. What he writes on Truth Social, he'll repeat ad nauseum.
