All of Canada as one megastate?  It'd be the ultimate battleground state.

We'd be worth what, 54 Grand Electors, like California?  Admitted as one State, we'd likely tilt Democrat overall, he doesn't know that :P
I don't do meditation.  I drink alcohol to relax, like normal people.

If Microsoft Excel decided to stop working overnight, the world would practically end.

That's the thing - it wouldn't be.  It would be like adding a new California, guaranteeing Democratic victories for a generation.

Not to mention turning the CFL into the NFL's third division.  That would make the Super Bowl more complicated.

I'm in! Let's do it.

Altho, no reason to only make it 1 state. 8 or 9. Depending on how people want to handle PEI.

Canada in the US would indeed my a net win for the world.
I'd be curious how the conservative bits of Canada would go. I understand they tend to be a bit more actual live on planet earth conservative rather than the lunatic-conservative of the US.

I think it would be a lot like the Dakotas.

Hunter got in trouble for who he was, would never have faced this if he wasnt Bidens son, so it's only right he gets out of it the same way.

It providing cover for trump-Meh. They were going to do what they wanted anyway and clearly people dont care. 2028 won't be won on arguments over democracy.

Again somebody buying into the Biden, excuse, lie, that his son got into trouble because of who he is not because of his actions.

You guys are puffing exactly the sort of nonsense that Trump says about the justice system, but somehow it's OK because you're on the left and he's on the right?

He did wrong no doubt.
But that the courts would have hounded him in such a big way after such time had passed if he was just a random nobody?
No way would that have been the case.
Wrong comes in degrees and the attention Hunter Biden is getting is way out of proportion with the level of crime.

Its not about right vs. left. Its about authoritarianism vs. democracy.
The courts under a Democrat government can be trusted to largely do the right thing despite the efforts of the Republicans to use them for political means.
The courts under Trump...

More like adding a new Washington or New York. Canada isn't really much like California.

Is it me or is the swing state thing in presidential elections messed up, anyways? I mean, why bother campaigning in California or Florida if they're "locked in" for a party anyways. Which must suck for voters in those states, esp. if they're part of the minor group. "My vote is wasted, anyways, because my party can't win this state."
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

Population of California - 39 million
Population of Canada - 40 million

Remember Canada has more land area than the entire United States, so obviously Canada as a whole isn't "like" any one particular state.  But Canada as the 51st state would have the largest population in the union, and would vote reliably Democratic in the short to medium term - and thus would be like California.

That's just the reality of First Part the Post though.  Whether you break things down by states or by by districts or whatever - only a certain number of them will be competitive.

I thought you were making a cultural statement -_-

Though, like Canada, California's NHL teams all suck.

A fringe Quebec provincial party campaigns on having Quebec join the USA. They believe our invitation still stands to this day.
