QuoteLincoln, Nebraska -- While dozens of people testified for or against a proposed ordinance that would extend anti-bias protections to gay and transgender people in Lincoln, one woman's particularly strange statement is making waves online.
The speakers shared their views on the so-called "fairness amendment" Monday at a public hearing before the City Council. The measure would protect gay and transgender people from discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodations in the state's capital city.
The Rev. Nancy Erickson of First-Plymouth Congregational Church says lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people are forced to live double lives because their livelihoods depend "upon them keeping a secret."
But Dave Gehrls, speaking for an Omaha-based ministry, said the measure discriminates against people of faith "who cannot live their faith in their businesses."
The local debate got national attention, however, due to the testimony of one person's comments. Video of the remarks have gone viral online.
A woman who identified herself as Jane Skrovata took the microphone at one point and for five minutes read non-stop from a rambling statement that often went off on strange tangents.
Objecting to the proposed ordinance, Skrovata gave numerous reasons that often made little, if any, sense:
"P-E-N-I-S goes into the anus to rupture intestines. The more a man does this the more he'll be a fatality or a homicider."
"Candida fungus grows hugely on a corpse. AIDS is a candida fungus disease."
"Hillary Clinton's roommate four years in college was a gay woman. To avoid going gay like Clinton did, college students need single rooms and single gender dorms... A college woman is seduced with illegal Rohypnol to go gay."
"Gays can transform to be celibate to live to be 80 years old."
The council is scheduled to vote on the measure next week.

WTF was that. :lmfao: What planet is she on.
Btw I like this from the serious discussion on the ordinance:
QuoteBut Dave Gehrls, speaking for an Omaha-based ministry, said the measure discriminates against people of faith "who cannot live their faith in their businesses."
Is discrimination really a central tenet to Christianity?

She is either a very poor writer and is reading exactly what she wrote, or she's schizophrenic. Looks like a thought disorder.
She could be a false flag by the LGBT peoples. Probably Tomcat.
Quote"A college woman is seduced with illegal Rohypnol to go gay."
In an operational sense, that statement's not completely untrue.

It is if your theology is shit. You know, Protestantism.

I think it's a central tenet of most moral codes.

WTF.
Except nowadays, it normally has like 10 more letters appended on to the end. In Toronto, it's LGBTTIQQ2SA :Canuck:
I like the Qs
Q for Queer - too odd and individual to fit in any of the other categories
Q for Questioning - so we'll not assume that individuals who want a space at the LGBT umbrella are gay
Can someone tell me where the P-E-N-I-S goes?

If anything we should drop the "T".
I mean, if you get four people and ask them what they want, tell me which one does not fit with the others:
Person A: "I want to have sex with women."
Person B: "I want to have sex with men."
Person C: "I want to have sex with both men and women."
Person D: "I want someone to cut my dick in half, fashion it into a fake vagina, put fake breasts in my chest and give me hormones."

Point taken.
However, how many Person Cs have you known that have said which statement more often: "I want to have sex with both men and women," or "I want to have sex with both men and women, but for some reason all I ever do is have sex with men"?
I actually dated a bi guy - when we broke up he hooked up with a girl - I'm now friends with both of them. I also had a fuck buddy who had a girlfriend at the same time, but yeah that could be just being on a down low.

They've all been persecuted for their sexuality; they all demand non-normative behavior in order to achieve happiness; and often if not usually involve self-interrogation, self-deception, and coming out.
I love how some gays have no compunction whatsoever about pulling the ladder up now that they're in the helicopter and say shit about how they can't possibly see how the situations, while different, are socially and politically analogous.
Uhm, transgendered people are not "about" different sexuality but different gender identity. That's something completely different. In fact, a lot of transgendered people, once they have their sex changed, considered themselves straight and not a part of the LGB culture/demographic. On the other hand, some T people identify as lesbian or gay after their transformation (e.g. a Male-To-Female transsexual may be attracted to women) so again this shows sexuality to be separate from gender identity.

@Ide - it is hard to stay on point when you've so many competing agendas. (See feminism)
