Lol. Stupid school, how could they not know parents would flip out over this? And trying to lie just compounds their stupidity.

QuoteHow would you feel if an adult film star read to your seven year old child? Believe it or not, some parents in California are pretty angry that it happened in their kids' classroom.
Porn legend Sasha Grey was a guest reader at Emerson Elementary School in Compton, California earlier this month, joining first and third grade students in their Read Across America day. Grey certainly enjoyed the experience, tweeting, "Spent the am with Read Across America Compton, reading to the sweetest 1st & 3rd grade students @ Emerson Elementary!"
The problem, TMZ reports, is that parents aren't happy -- and that school officials, instead of addressing the issue, are claiming it never happened. Of course, it'd be silly for Grey to tweet about it if it hadn't happened, and more importantly, TMZ has a photo of the event (as they always seem to do).
To be fair to Grey, is she is a recently retired porn star, having recently called it quits. She is now a published author, actress in more mainstream flicks (with a part in the Thomas Jane, Rob Lowe and Jeremy Piven film, "I Melt With You"), Peta activist and fan of Occupy Wall Street.

Wait, a stupid school? In California, America?!??
I would be delighted if Peter North read to my hypothetical son. :showoff:
Fuck off! I used to get fucking nuns read to me in grade three.
Why should the school care if parents flip out over silly stuff? There's no indication of inappropriate conduct or material.
big whoop. kids don't kno who she is. And if anything, having porn stars at school would raise father participation rates

The School Board and the PTA has way too much power in most places. This would be a huge headache to deal with, and the school should have realized that beforehand.
WAIT!!!!! She's retired? WTF? I loved her retro pubes.
I don't see what the problem is, assuming she was wearing some clothes when she read to the kids.
NO. :(

well in any situation it's usually that parent who gets outraged. So it's a safe bet :D
What Max and i are saying here, is that mothers are prone to over-react. In case you missed it ;) :P
I don't think that's exactly what I'm saying.
Rather there are certain wives who see it as a betrayal if their husband ever thinks of another woman sexually.
I wonder how she's introduced.

Not all mothers. :contract:
Why would I care? It's not like a 1st grader or a 3rd grader would know of her past performances, and if they did, there are bigger issues at play here. She's more or less "gone legit" in her career, so simply saying, "Actress Sasha Grey is here to read to you!" would suffice.
This is plain silliness.

True, not all. I'll modify my statement to when a parent does react it's more often then not a mother. I don't think i've ever seena dad storm into a school to "defend" a kid. i have seen several mothers do so, however. I'm related to one who did it all the time.

I disagree. One wonders with all the potential legitimate actresses who could read, why bring her? This sort of thing is normally reserved for First Lady's or more prominent celebs. Even the so-called legit movies she's been in haven't exactly kid fodder. So, again..why her? She isn't
that well know at all outside of porn. Any inquisiitve Grade 3 student would then go home and google image her. "She must be somebody famous," said kid wonders. It just doesn't make any sense whatsoever and who ever picked her knew it would only elicit outrage and a couple pages of languish debate.
A really poor choice.

Depends how much fuss is made. If she's reading to a single class and there's no mention of her career, there'd be little reason to bother. Course, I didn't have google in 3rd grade, maybe today's kids are google searching every name they hear. :hmm:

Deluded, crazy women? Are there still a lot of those left?
Anyway, Sasha Grey's pretty great, and has struck me as a pretty straightforward person. I'm glad she's still getting mainstream acting work after The Girlfriend Experience, which is one of the most boring movies in the history of time, but this is not attributable to her.
QuoteCourse, I didn't have google in 3rd grade, maybe today's kids are google searching every name they hear.
