What's the best U.S. major PRO sports league? (PICK TWO!)
Option 1: NFL
votes: 31
Option 2: MLB
votes: 7
Option 3: NHL
votes: 7
Option 4: NBA
votes: 7
Option 5: MLS
votes: 6
Option 6: JLS (Jaron League Sports)
votes: 4
Well, what is it?
For me MLB, followed by NFL.
P.S.: Maybe some mod (KATMAI?) could change the second MLB to MLS?
Why to MLB?
I go NFL first followed by MLB.
The NHL is mismanaged, the NBA is crap, and MLS is still too small time.
You were smart not to include the MLS. Because anybody thinking that would be a fucking moron.
As for my vote, NFL.
The NFL, in any way I could describe "best."
It is the most profitable, most interesting, most watched and has the best format. 16 games, one each week; every game is so important that fans go from wanting to jump off buildings to wanting to throw a parade on a weekly basis. The play-offs are great, one game elimination with the Super Big Game at the end.
The only things that mar the league:
The Pro Bowl
Two week before the Super Big Game
The Raiders
The Vikings
MLB is close but I don't like the playoff format. They play 162 games in ~180 days; you have to have 5 starting pitchers and a good deep bullpen. When the playoffs roll around they play 3 games a week; you can win with 3 starters and a middle reliever and a closer. They should make the playoff rounds best of 11 and play every day.

Awwwww that's sweet the MLS appreciates your support!
NFL is first by a country mile. MLB edges out NBA for second.

Oh. I thought it was so we could vote for MLB twice. Which I did.
I'm not that in to sports but I love to go to baseball games on a nice day, drink some beers, and relax.
American football and baseball are too time consuming and dull and I've never seen ice hockey. Basketball is OK though.

Do they have any sports leagues in Thailand?
They have a soccer league. Never been to a game. People seem to be more interested in British soccer. There's also a sepak takraw league. Which is like volleyball using a baseball sized wicker ball, but you can only use your feet.
That sounds very unusual
The NFL by a fair margin. The NBA is overly rigged, the NHL is managed by complete morons, and MLB is utterly without merit.
That said, it looks like the NFL is going to destroy itself soon, so what can you do?
NBA! The Answer has returned Philly, maybe now the Sixers can relinquish their coveted lowest-attendance-in-basketball position.

I thought the Nets had the lowest attendance now, with that spectacular team they have.
In seriousness, as a very milquetoast sports dabbler, I would say I enjoy the NFL the most followed closely by the NBA. Pro football is worthwhile for the incredible bursts of excitement and the anticipation riding on every play. Basketball is pure spectacle and athleticism. Baseball is alright, but a little too slow and statistical for my tastes. Hockey, I never could give a shit about. Can't even see where the freakin puck is?!?!
If they want to pack the house, just go around to all the neighbors around the stadium, get them to donate all the shit that would get stolen anyways and put it in a basement gauntlet beneath the stadium.
After the game, the trap doors open and the real event can begin! :w00t:

Hockey is something you have to watch in person to enjoy. Especially minor league hockey. Good stuff out there. And by that, I mean fighting.

 I got caught in a pseudo-riot several years ago trying to take my grandfather to watch a St. John's University basketball game at Madison Square Garden. One of the hip-hop radio stations had announced some erroneous information about an electronics sale that was going on there, and it turned into a good old-fashioned window-smashing melee.

:o how did you escape?
NFL is by far the best.
2nd place though is a tie for me between NHL and MLS
Baseball is boring to me anymore and NBA is dead to me.

I took a deep breath, seized Grandad by the arm, and charged right through. :alberta:
NFL then NBA. MLB and NHL are both pretty cool too though.
NHL because it's only American in that we need their money to keep it going (except in Montreal and Toronto) Also it's the only interesting sport mentioned.
Most pro sports are crap. But the NFL is the least bad. NBA the worst.

I agree. Of course the owners (in Football, too) see only "More games = more revenue". Baseball in November? That's wrong. :(
The NFL. The way they do revenue sharing allows all teams to be competitive as far as their management allows.
None. Can't get into the NFL for some reason, and the other sports are boring to watch.

It isn't necessarily about more or less games it is about how often they play them. If they played 5-6 games a week like they did in the regular season they could be done well before November.
NFL is obviously the best & I voted for the NHL, because, well I like Hockey & I wish buttman would die.
Baseball is OK but they don't have enough playoff spots for me to care about any of their games. That & the Yankees.
Basketball is the most boring sport that was ever organized.

I agree, but the problem is they overexpanded and there isn't a way to get the genie back in the bottle.
It would be tough to put just 4 teams into the postseason with 30 teams. But if we are going to have 8 post season teams, at least the first round should be 7 games.
NFL, with the NHL and MLB more or less tied for second. I hate all of the big four's commissioners though. I think I'd like the NHL more if it were on more often where I live, or if I lived in a town with a team. Baseball is ruined by the lack of competition and the over stretching of markets. The NFL I think is destined for some bad things, as they're buying into their own hype waaaaay too much. The moving of the Pro Bowl, the potential for an uncapped year, the plan to extend the season, the continued douchery over Sunday Ticket, the questionable calls and lack of paying for full time refs, the insane pay rate of first round draft picks compared to veterans, and much more bodes ill for the league.
You know what I hate most about the NFL? The fucking London games.

You know, I wouldn't really mind a team up in Canada. Because it is on the same bloody continent as the rest.
That, and I actually like Canada.

:o
Now I love the NFL, but they should stick to the other side of the border. Cuz if the NFL ever moved into Canada it would be with one team (Toronto), and it would suck the life out of my beloved CFL.
I don't mind the current deal with Buffalo however since they will only play meaningful games in Canada once the CFL season is over.
The only bad thing about Canadians is how insistent they are that they're different from Americans, really. That and the imperialist Britain fixation.
