Should I go to a hipster-infested hot dog place? http://senatepub.com/
Should I go to a BBQ joint for the best pulled pork sandwich in the city? http://www.elisbarbeque.com/
Or should I go out for chicken & waffles? https://authenticwaffle.com/
BBQ
I would think the BBQ would be the lock.
Pulled pork for sure.
If it were me I'd go for the hipster hotdog, but that would likely change depending on which day you ask me. All look good (though I must admit I don't "get" chicken and waffles - must be the Canadian in me).
Dogs for Tuesday.
Chicken and waffles for Wednesday.
BBQ for Thursday.
Call in sick with the shits on Friday and play video games all day.
Hot Dog place all the way.

You ain't from the hood ;)
Just make sure to have a pickle with it
I've seen chicken and waffles. It spells, "goodnight."

You don't know me - I grew up on the mean streets of Saskatoon.
BB has "UKON" and "HARD" tattooed on his knuckles.
Eli's BBQ it is. Going before I give blood.
I've recently decided that I am ok with hipsters. So go to that place.
I've always wanted to have chicken & waffles.

I'm not okay with hipsters, but they do know where good food is.
I dated a hipster for a while. She was funny, smart, and hot. Hipsters are therefore ok.
"Hipster" does not mean "wide in the hips", Cal.
:pinch:
So we demand a lunch review spicey. :contract:

Really? My impression is hipster food is all about dumbass fusion (Thai-Mex! Traditional comfort food with a Bolivian twist!) and stacking shit up really high on the plate.
Korean BBQ tacos are the shiznit.

Not necessarily - they're also big on "authentic".
I'm with Yiizus.

Yes! Sushi tacos at Wasabi Juan! Yummy hipster food! You go to the Avondale Brewery next door while they prepare your order, and you complete the hipster experience. The Wife and I also had great fun making fun of the weirdos that came in and out.
Sounds better than what I had. Elementary school pasta.

That's wrong on three levels of note.

It was good as always. The pork was smoked to perfection, with no shortage of bark. Oh, bark...
Ordered me a second pulled pork sandwich without the bun and ate it with a fork. That was my side.
Good choice, I would have said the Pork sammich. :)

Fusion's been out of foodie fashion for a decade or so hasn't it?
Over here hipsters are currently into craft beer (have been for a while), burgers (ditto, but we're past peak burger), BBQ, Sri Lankan, authentic Mexican. I think the forage thing may be past its peak, but I'm not sure.

When are they planning to actually get authentic Mexican?

Not been myself.
Mexican restaurants in Buenos Aires (what few there are) are unauthentic and hilariously overpriced.
fixed
I don't understand the big deal with "authentic" Mexican, or interior Mexican as we call it. I mean it's alright.
"Authentic Mexican" = actual Mexicans can recognize it

Tex-Mex is far superior IMO. Because there's chili.
When I say Mexican, Tex Mex is what I mean.
I'm with you guys. After a month in Mexico all I wanted to eat was club sandwiches.
So, did lunch work out?
