I'm not overly keen on the pics, but then, I'm not overly keen on the same things with women in them. I prefer less posed portraits of real people, rather than overly posed pictures of very pretty people.

QuoteAre you sick of art history's obsession with the gentle beauty of a female muse? Enough of these beautiful women with coy glances, flowing locks and milky soft skin -- we're ready for the men.
Nir Arieli's portrait series "Men" places men in traditionally feminine spaces and postures, illuminating the human characteristics that have, over time, become decidedly feminine traits. The following male muses are making us wish men felt free to explore their feminine sides more often. Behold, 11 reasons men should get in touch with a softer self. Read more about Arieli below.
"In my work I try to expose a component of masculinity that was once oppressed by common social codes," Arieli wrote in an email to The Huffington Post. "Gentleness, uncensored emotion, vulnerability –- all of these became, under the influence of the social evolution, unnatural characteristics when manifested by men."
For his subjects, Arieli selects men who freely exhibit characteristics normally reserved for feminine territory. "They do it unapologetically and shamelessly, almost proclaiming a new forthcomingness," Arieli explained.
It's a large leap from Arieli's initial photography endeavor, serving as a military photographer for an Israeli magazine. With their gentle palettes and soft gazes, Arieli's "Men" emanate a tenderness not normally associated with masculinity. After gushing over this series, we're beginning to question why that is.
:hmm: Troll?
:P
Why are they all crying? Gay.

Because it's feminine to cry.
Arse, I clicked on the link; now I'm gonna have to clear my interwebs cache and the NSA have forever added another tag to my profile. :(
Number 7 - Mike - sweet little thing.
G.
Gay.
Is joke, yes?
Most of them don't look particularly feminine to me. They generally have strong, square jawlines, eyes not too far apart, some facial hair etc.
This thread needs implants.

Of course I do. The artist, however, doesn't appear to.
Okay, so question. Is it an insult to call a man feminine?

It's like "nigga". Blacks can use it but whites can't. :P

Wide-set eyes is a girly thing?

Yes, because of heteronormativity and shit.
Pictures make me hate my nose. Thanks.
I'm not a fan of the feminine side of masculinity and I'd say that #2 isn't feminine. That's just a man on a floral quilt.

No, that's correct. A real man should never cry, unless they're tears of joy after personally winning the Superbowl. Even then, it's a bit much. Showing emotion isn't proper, it's the sort of thing that women or gays do.
Correct.

But I didn't say anything about the South or Japan or how much I like the idea of crippled girls? I just told the people what it is to be a man, just as my father showed me.

Telling people what is and is not "proper" based on 19th century standards sounds very much like something Lettow would say.

I dunno about that; I certainly didn't feel womanly or gay showing my emotions whenever I broke a phone in the office, threw my coffee mug or punched dents in metal filing cabinets.
Gay.

If I was trying to seduce a woman and she said 'you are so feminine, it is like hanging out with the girls' I would not take it as a compliment.
Not that that ever happened or anything. It was a friend.

That's why I don't go to movie theaters that often:
the waterworks come too easy when it comes to movies.

One of the reasons I love going to sporting events is because the weird psychology of being in a big mob heightens the emotions. I find myself doing all sorts of things like tears up a bit when the band marches out of the field
