The Republic of Korea, or the Republic you abandoned years ago?

That's a little harsh. It's not like he was ever a real American anyway.

Yo, what the hell does that mean?

Americans working abroad have to pay American taxes.

Most likely the taxes they pay abroad are deducted from what they have to pay in the US. Most countries have anti-double-tax treaties that address that.

When I worked in the US, I kept paying taxes in Spain. I was told it was because of a tax treaty, but it seemed weird to me.

Did you work in the US for more than 182 days in a year?

Tim is hispanic. Lettow is getting ahead of himself, but in Donald Trump's America, hispanics will not be considered full citizens and will be forced to wear badge with a yellow taco for easy identification.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

No. Fell slightly short of that.

I thought he was referring specifically to Puerto Rico and its quasi-American status(though Tim is from Rhode Island).

Oh then it is easy - the treaty treated you as a tax resident of Spain, as most of them do so unless you work more than half a year in another country. I was in Belgium for almost six months so I stayed a Polish tax resident too.

At least as a German you still have to file a 1040 form to the IRS if you want to be tax exempt under the US-German tax treaty even if you work less than 185 days there.

I filed a tax return. There was just nothing taxable in it.

I know absolutely nothing about tax, mind, I always pay people to do those for me since I don't want to fuck up anything.

So I went to check the general election polling.

All are Trump v. Clinton (sources are the latest state poll at realclearpolitics--all within the last week) :

Michigan: Clinton +5%
Georgia: Trump +9%
Florida: Trump +2%
Ohio: Trump +2%
North Carolina: Trump +2%

Those are all the states polled.

Quite possibly it isn't just the republicans and the whole country has gone insane?

Isn't that pretty much what is expected? Florida, Ohio, and North Carolina are all purple states.

We need to start rewriting the narrative that everyone who isn't voting Trump in a primary hates him with the fire of a thousand suns.

Dude starts out with 70% negatives and improves that by pissing on everyone.
