So here's the scoop - a Canadian comedian asks his twitter followers to text their parents "got 2 grams for $40", and then immediately send a follow up "sorry ignore that text. Not for you", and then send a picture of the response.

Here's a few of my favourites - more following the link:

No matter how funny though, if I'm a teenage kid there's no way I'm pulling this stunt.

 Nice.  It would go over my mom's head completely & who knows what my dad would do.  As a parent I would totally fall for it & come unglued.

Well yeah - as a parent I'm pretty sure the correct response is NOT "oh, well if it's nothing then I won't worry about it".

Don't really see the humor.  I don't like practical jokes where the correct response for the information given is exactly the response that is going to be mocked.

Thanks for the heads up.

Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
I wish, I wish he'd go away...

It's kind of a fun prank to play on your parents.

Are you sure you understand the rich tapestry that is practical jokes?

So what's your response Meri?

"That's kind of cheap. I'd ask for $60." ;)

I sent it to both Carter and Jackson. I got this from Carter:

Me: I've got 2 grams for $40
Me: Um, ignore that. Not for you.
Carter: Excuse me?
Me: Nothing. Was for someone else
Carter: Oooooookay...

Wouldn't work on my parents. My sister and I used to openly discuss the habits of our drug user mates on the dinner table, to the horror of any guest.

I don't know. There's a difference between talking about what friends do who use drugs and providing proof that you are personally selling or buying drugs.

Not seeing this as particularly funny.

Either the parents are okay with drug use and it is no big deal, they are oblivious about drug use and it sails over their heads, or they are not okay about drug use and not oblivious and it makes them concerned and upset.

None of those reactions are exactly going to be a laff riot.
