Not seeing this as particularly funny. 

Either the parents are okay with drug use and it is no big deal, they are oblivious about drug use and it sails over their heads, or they are not okay about drug use and not oblivious and it makes them concerned and upset.

None of those reactions are exactly going to be a laff riot.

It does seem like practical jokes are a thing that both you and Dgul don't get.

I am indeed more into theoretical jokes.  It's very hard to make a good practical joke.  Either you get lasting damage, or you're just mocking a very reasonable reaction.  The good ones, like when Justin Timberlake got punked because he was too stoned to realize that Tax Enforcement Agency doesn't exist, are rare.

Why would a reasonable reaction to a practical joke not be funny? And why would you have to mock something to find it amusing?
