From what I've gathered the assembly included no religious messages.
If a "faith-based, Christ-centered" organization informs everyone in writing that the messages they are delivering at an assembly are "God's plan" then anything they say at that assembly is presumptively a religious message.
I thought that faith-based was OK now, thanks to our friends at the White House Office of Faith-Based and Neighborhood Partnerships.

Freedom of religion is not freedom FROM religion!
 Dude, have you heard of the anti-establishment clause?  At best, this could be a grey area if it was an extracurricular activity hosted at the school.  Endorsing "God's plan for sexual purity" during school activities is anything but okay.
If you fold a copy of the Constitution so that the Establishment Clause and the anti-establishment clause touch, do they annihilate each other according to E=mc2?

:face: That's what I get for pulling my copy of the Constitution from the Negative Zone. :P

All of our assemblies were about winning football or basketball games.

The messages we got worked pretty well for basketball, but not at all for football.

Listened to the first video.  Nothing about God.  Don't know if it's accurate, but we had a lot of people come to talk to us about drugs who weren't exactly honest.  We also had some strange guy raving against racist maps.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Tim's maps are jingoist, not racist.

I've always remember this guy's crank theory on how the Mercator projection is a racist plot against Africans.

The problem with the Mercator projection is that it distorts the actual sizes of land masses. Some folks have noted that it makes Africa look a lot smaller than it actually is (and Greenland as almost the same size as Africa(!)). This is supposed to be a slight against Africans, apparently. Its only real use nowadays is for navigation, as it's still really accurate for that.
