Spent a few hours with The Stanley Parable. Not so much a game as it is an interactive experience. I found it rather amusing, but it's very, VERY meta about gaming and game design, so YMMV.
Yeah, I enjoyed that, but can't really say I played the game, as say I played with the game.
The future is all around us, waiting, in moments of transition, to be born in moments of revelation. No one knows the shape of that future or where it will take us. We know only that it is always born in pain.   -G'Kar

The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

Hearthstone! :yeah:

Any good?

I don't have much experience playing TCGs but the production values are awesome & the card system is interesting & complicated without ever reaching magic levels of nonsense.

Been playing the Silent Hunter Online Beta.  Kind of fun-- not as much as SH3 but I can play it in a browser and it's free.  But they don't call it a beta for nuthin'.

I dunno, we've seen this model of MP "dynamic campaign" attempt before, and it never, ever works.

And there won't be a single destroyer player in the game.  ZOMG EVERYBODYS A ROGUE GNOME

I'm playing Eldrich, Nuclear Throne, and Paranautical Activity. God DAMN but it's a golden era for indie games.

I've been playing some Warlock - Master of the Arcane again. I really like the light hearted beer & pretzels style of the game (it feels like a Civ5 mod geared towards warfare only), but unfortunately the AI is not very competent.

If a player loses their capital, it's game over for them (their cities become independent in such an event). My Elder Ogre hero was besieging an opponent's capital for fifteen or so turns, but the AI went after the weaker support units in the rear while I kept hammering his capital with spells and the Ogre. I guess it's ok that the AI tries to go after weaker units first, but seriously, if your capital is about to fall, mount some last ditch effort at least.

Even more depressing: another city I had taken from him was without defenders. The AI could easily have moved a stack of melee fighters in there. Instead he goes after some adjacent units that were in a superior defensive position.

Plus the game has no soul.

The monster units do, I think. At least they're amusing when you select them. "Spears! Oh, you already know we spears."

And it has more soul than Fallen Enchantress: Legendary Heroes. FE:LH is now pretty much the game that should have been released from the start, but man does it feel generic (esp. compared to Stardock's own GalCiv). It's a good game, but it doesn't draw me in much.

I need to play Eador a bit more.

I want my Battlefield 4.

My nephews want me to get the new call of duty game. I really need to hear a 13 and 11 year old scream 'PWNED' into my ear.

Cover based military shooters are to male gaming what the Twilight books are to female reading. This counts doubly for multiplayer.
