I have been playing a lot of a game I got for free on my Kindle.  The game involves an improbably named gramophone salesman name "Barry Steakfries" who for some reason steals a machine gun, straps it to his back and tries to fly away with it using the recoil to propel himself into the air.  He kills several people in clean suits and dies a gruesome death with in the first few minutes.  That's pretty much the whole game.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Since Blizzard is being a bitch & hasn't seen the to send me a key for the Hearthstone beta, I got into the Card Hunter beta.

It's pretty cool. The cards you can draw are based on the equipments of your Hero.

Syt, you should try it. You would like it.

Started playing Sid Meier's Ace Combat. Reminds me a lot of The Ancient Art of War in the Skies.

Reminds me of Ace of Aces (which was in reality a hex-based game) on a map.  Still, quite fun.
I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.

While Ace Patrol has some (a fair bit) of repetitiveness to it, it still is a good game for the 9 bucks.  I figure I will get at least 20 hours out of it by the time it is done.  Good call, Syt.

Some of the maneuver rules are a little opaque, but I'm really enjoying shooting down German biplanes.

Recently finished the main story of Arkham Asylum and have now moved to Arkham City. Good stuff. City feels a lot more epic than Asylum, and the additional moves/gadgets are very welcome.

Actually, I'm not the biggest Batman fan, because I find him generally a bit too dour.

:P

Still, the game mechanics make you feel pretty badass when you take out a bunch of thugs or pick them off one by one in the stealth sections.

I hadn't played a beat'em up since the SNES when I picked up Arkham Asylum.  I was blown away on how good it was.  Arkham City was just more of the good.

Arkham City is Arkham Asylum, turned up to 11.  It ditched all the stupid, and kept all the great.
