Suggs just trafficks in the truth.

You saw the billboard outside Boston that was up all week, didn't you?

Bet it came down fast tonight.

Screw that.  Too many sunshine soldiers and summer patriots to allow that.  When you suffer through classes at 8am when hungover AND wondering where your underwear is after last night, all the while with half a sunburned face from the low sun on that October saturday...then you are both a student and a fan.

There is something special about the university experience.

Eh, maybe I just see things differently since I didn't have the traditional university experience and my school didn't have a football team until I was a senior (and didn't play a real season until the year after).  I certainly know plenty of UT and OU fans/alum who would agree with you.

On the other hand, you have guys like Fireman Ed and Dolfan Denny, who go well above what your average college or pro fan does.  To say they and fans like them are less a part of a team than someone who happened to go to a university and go to a few home games is ridiculous.  Its a matter of devotion, not affiliation.  Hell, I think fans like the aforementioned have more right to use "we" than some of the free agent mercenaries actually on the teams. :P

Being a longtime Dolphins fan, I agree. :P  However, he is one devoted motherfucker, even if his devotion is... misplaced.

Awesome.  That'll teach you to gank a Niners' fan.

QuoteAn Atlanta Falcons fan was stabbed in the neck during an altercation outside the Georgia Dome following Sunday's NFC Championship Game, Channel 2 Action News in Atlanta reported.

The victim, a 35-year-old male, was stabbed after punching a San Francisco 49ers fan, witnesses told Channel 2 Action News. After being punched, the 49ers fan stabbed the Falcons fan in the throat area, according to the report.

The Falcons fan was transported to nearby Grady Hospital.

Georgia Dome spokesman Jason Kirksey emailed a statement to The Associated Press on Sunday saying an altercation occurred in a parking lot outside the dome at 6:40 p.m. ET.

The statement says he is in stable condition and that it is unclear "if anyone involved in the altercation attended the game." Georgia Dome and Atlanta police "are investigating the incident."

QuoteLittle brother is the betting favorite in Super Bowl XLVII.

Jim Harbaugh's 49ers are five-point favorites over John Harbaugh's Baltimore Ravens, according to the opening line established by the Las Vegas Sports Consultants.

That line is given to the sports books at the Las Vegas casinos, which adjust the number based on the flow of money. The goal is to draw equal action on both sides (favorite and underdog).

The over/under is 49.5.

The betting favorite has won six of the past nine Super Bowls.

The only underdogs to win in that span are the New York Giants (2008, 2012) and New Orleans (2010).

Damn, how'd Ray Lewis get to New England in time for his game?
