The comments are awesome, especially this one:

QuoteStacker2        2 days ago  What about the six kids by four women outside of marriage? Very Christlike way of raising a family.
I get physically angry when I hear "Ray Lewis". Like, fists clenching and shit. He's a constant, camera-loving reminder that shitheads are frequently rewarded in life and there's nothing you can do about it.
/Steeler fan
/yes our QB is a rapist
/but still only 3rd in AFC North criminality

Who's #1 AFC North Criminials?

Nobody's had more arrests the last several years than the Derspeiss Boys.

I pretty much despise both teams by this point. I guess I'm rooting for Bane to blow up the field when the Niners have the ball.
My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.

OTOH:
QuoteRay Lewis is a self-serving religious freak and clearly a fucking asshole, and will no doubt burn in Hell for helping murder two people and then snitching on this buddies, but I still want him and the Ravens to kick the 49ers' asses because who wants that city winning another championship? They already got 2 of the last 3 World Series' rings. They're already 5-0 in Super Bowls. They've won an NBA title (albeit a long time ago) and don't have to suffer with having an NHL team. So, FUCK YOU, San Fran.

JJ Watt won DPOY with all but one of the possible votes.  20.5 sacks, 23 tfl, 16 batted passes. Apparently, he beat out 1999 Ray Lewis in 'defeats' 56 to 45 for most all time. Von Miller had 39 this year, seventh best all time.

Neil

Is a 'defeat' some new kind of stat?

Still, Watt was a total monster for most of the season, so I think that's a pretty well-earned award.  Richard Sherman had a great year, but as good as he was at shutting guys down, Watt was just more disruptive.
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

A defeat is a tfl or turnover forced or pdef or tackle that ended a drive.

Even dead, they're giving Modell the shaft.  Hope when the NFL counts its television revenue dollars after tonight's game, they remember that.

You tackle a guy on 3rd and 10 after 8 yards and get a "defeat?"  That's retarded.

Whatever it is, yeah, it's retarded alright.  Why can't a TFL just be a TFL?  Why does it have to be a "defeat", when there could be multiple players involved in how it develops?

I mean, if a guard has a pulling assignment on the 4 gap on a run, and the dog backer shoots the  open gap, and the fullback misses the block and the ball carrier is tackled for a loss, who exactly is defeated?  The guard?  The fullback?  The ball carrier?  WTF?
