A brand new thread, nicely timed for your post-Xmas-binge-eating-guilt-trip.

Ladies and gentlemen, set your targets for 2013.

Eddie Teach

Go under 200 lbs. Cut back on soda drastically. Learn to surf.
To sleep, perchance to dream. But in that sleep of death, what dreams may come?

Damnit, Mal. You couldn't give it just a few more days?? :glare:

Okay. Here we go:

  • Lose the last 25 pounds
  • Run a 10k in the spring
  • Run/walk a half-marathon in the summer
  • Run a half-marathon in the fall
  • Clean up my eating habits ... again *sighs*
Yesterday, upon the stair,
I met a man who wasn't there
He wasn't there again today
I wish, I wish he'd go away...

My fitness goal for 2013 is trying not to die, preferably in a non-stupid or embarrassing manner.

Cut back on soda drastically.

That's a lot easier than you think, and you'd be surprised at the pounds you'll lose just by laying off that shit and not doing anything else.
That stuff is so bad for you.

Yeah, it's kinda hard to understand why it's taken hold so much.

I'm going to try to make 2013 a better fitness year.

I gave up normal cola a long time ago, but I'd like to kick diet too. Right now I have myself limited to weekends. It didn't help that my company moved our office to a new building with a free soda fountain. :P But I'll make it.
Winner of THE grumbler point.

It starts. Half an hour on the spinning bike, it's not much but a better start than last year.

I've started using Endomondo sports tracker to shame myself into exercising more regularly. Anyone else using it?

Well done you and Jaron for resurrecting this thread and making a start. ;cheers:

Back to the gym tomorrow morning. Hopefully, it won't be ridiculously packed. :glare:

Have you tried excessive farting or talking to yourself, that seems to clear the machines around you,  Allegedly.   :)

No fitness targets for this year, just carrry on doing what I do, but with a more relaxed attitude.

The only remaining target I have is to cycle more miles than I've driven by the time I'm 60/retire.

I'd estimate I have to do about another 60,000 kilometres, but that doesn't allow for any addition miles I do in vehicles as I get older.   :(

To break that down, if I cycle around 300 miles each month until then, I should do it and quite comfortably; Assuming I stay healthy, fit and no one tries to kill me on the roads.   :hmm:
