I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Fine.  Fuck all your browsers.  Deleted.

What kind of browser does your typewriter use anyway?

Stalin was a baddy.  The Soviets were baddies.  Boo hoo.   Not sure what the greater point of this thread is.

That is awesome.  I wish I had a desk at work to put that on.

Admiral Yi

What is that white uniform?  Dress uniform for some branch of the military, or Stalin's special waiter outfit?

CountDeMoney

That's his summer tunic, and only until Labor Day.

Soviets were not the baddies.  There is plenty of evidence that those were not legitimate rapes.

Yep, 73 years to this day. It allowed Hitler to avoid a REAL two-front war unlike say, Poland.
You may know it under the name of German-Soviet Nonaggression Pact, German-Soviet Treaty of Nonaggression, Hitler-Stalin Pact, Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact. An infamous mention goes as well to the secret protocal with the fifth partition of Poland.

And, until this day, the French whine about those nasty soviets who refused to immediately enter the war so that THEY could take on the brunt of the casualties of facing the Germans, while the allies could take it easy and advance when both sides are exhausted.

Boo-fucking-hoo. Two can play at that game, and the Union was more successful at it than France (who wasn't supposed to lose the war so quickly). Cry me a river.

Martim embrace Stalinist propaganda?  Shocking.

The Soviet Union lost a lot more people then France did in the war.  It would seem to me M-R pact was a disaster for the Soviet Union as it weakened it's natural allies (France, and Britain), and immensely strengthened it's dire enemy (Germany).  The Soviet Union payed a pretty steep price for such a poor decision.  The wounds it sustained in WWII likely factored into the collapse of the Soviet Union forty years later.  France is still around.  The Soviet Union is not.

I don't think I've heard a Frenchman boy or girl whine this particular whine ever.  Not a single time.

And this is from a guy who thinks the French are nonstop whiners.
