this just means Poles are getting smarter.
We can't allow that to happen.  Just think of all the great jokes that'll have to be thrown out. :(

It's good for you.

But don't worry, I'll get a car soon enough.

Then I'll be everybody's favourite - a bourgeois socialist.

Yeah, that bridge hasn't been been blown up yet at all. :P

I shop at Wal-Mart largely because of their store brand sodas.  Lately, since there's a Kroger's right next to work, I've been occasionally getting boxes of name brand sodas instead because their store brand burns my tongue if I drink any more than ten of them in a day.

When I didn't eat out every day, I shopped at Wal-Mart for groceries.  I still buy sundries there.

I actually never held to Communism, except as fighting words. Various flavours of Socialism and Anarchism yes, Communism no.

Still holds, just it will be a self-inflicted gunshot wound instead of diabetes.

Bought a bunch of great shit at Family Dollar this afternoon.  They have the best plastic container selection around.

I also visited the first ever Family Dollar store, still on its original site, in Charlotte.  ^_^

I get my running gear from Lidl, but I've never managed to do a food shop there that would actually constitute a week's meals. Fortunately Tesco has worked out I'm a poorer and keeps sending me cash vouchers off my shop. I go round with my phone calculator out and add stuff as it goes in my basket to ensure I only just make the minimum spend.

I drop into the 99p Store ("We save you a penny!") about once a month to stock up on cleaning stuff, loo roll and basic toiletries.

Our local Lidl has been moving upmarket, it now has an instore bakery and sells fresh meat. It is by far the best place to buy cheap vegetables in this town.

I buy our food from a variety of shops and go on death marches to get the best stuff (ie the best stuff if it is important, the cheapest if quality is the same in several places). It saves money but that is not the primary objective, which is getting some exercise.

We don't really have western style discount stores.  Our homes are too small and rent is too high.  There is not enough space in most households or in the retailer shops to enable western style bulk purchasing.  With our density, it is really easy to shop for most stuff.  It isn't necessary to store a huge amount of stuff at home if you walk past 3 supermarkets everyday you go to work.

Oh and for veg I go to the local market most weekends. It's impossible to spend more that £7 and it makes up 70% of my meals.

In fact the market also sells a lot of stuff cheaper than the shops - it's the only place I buy branded batteries and get my watch batteries replaced. There's also a toiletries stall, but it's a bit hit and miss as to what they have in stock.

Soda is for poor people.  You've got positive cash flow now so you should stop drinking poor people stuff. :)

I love my Diet Dr. Pepper. And its many, many white brand imitations.  :)
