Actually I just noticed for the first time that said map says it only is based on 120k respondents which means some of those counties are probably only mapped with a handful of individuals.

Now whether the 'taste' the other container materials impart is real or imagined is hard to say.

According to the soda/pop/coke map, it looks like the US needs some legislation on the  proper name for soda/pop type beverages. Congress and the President should get right on it, or at least appoint a Blue Ribbon Commission!

Wouldn't that be more likely to be caused by French cookies?  Or maybe Swedish cookies?
