Speaking of retro games, Macchiavelli is on GOG. I hope they'll also add Machiavelli II:

If they managed to make it run without crashing that'd be awesome, what a great game.

On that retro note. California Games and Impossible Mission II are on Steam:

Though of course you can just play the version of your choice (C64, Amiga, etc.) on your emulator of choice.

Oooh, Lost Patrol is also on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/1392750/Lost_Patrol/?curator_clanid=38465691

QuoteOur chopper tailed-out after taking a hit... the pilot won't be leaving the ground again. Now I have to lead my weary platoon back to our lines through the jungles and paddy fields. Entering what appears to be a friendly village - only to find it is a cover for a guerrilla faction - is just one of the things that helps our insomnia... that and the elusive psycho in my squad – I gotta figure out who he is before the morale factor becomes our worst enemy. Jeez, will this stupid war never end?!

Back in the day when most games fell firmly into one camp such as shoot 'em up, adventure, arcade action or map-based strategy, Lost Patrol was unusual in that it fused together elements of all these genres and more. With a combination of styles that tested a player's entire gamut of skills, this 1990 release picked up fans on the popular platforms of the day – the Amiga, Atari ST and (for the relatively few PC gamers at the time) MS-DOS. Appearing in many 'top 100' lists, Lost Patrol is fondly remembered by those that played it, and is now available officially on Steam for the first time, courtesy of Pixel Games UK.

The general action takes place on a military map, through which you are tasked with navigating a squad of men whose helicopter has crash-landed after an attack by the pesky guerrilla fighters. At certain points however the game field will switch view, requiring your arcade shooting skills, some hand-to-hand combat or other such surprises. Praised in its day for the quality of these additional graphic scenes, you'll quickly realise why Lost Patrol is considered a retro classic!

Minigames and a lot of RNG made this a tad frustrating IIRC

I've been trying to get somewhere with Kerbal lately.
Man, I just can't get a plane flying.

With planes it's important to make sure that the center of thrust is behind the center of lift, which is just inside or directly behind the center of mass.  Mess that up and you'll an unflyable mess.

Second, make sure you are using jet engines.  They have much better efficiency.
Third, takeoffs and landings are the hardest part.  Widely spaced landing gear and a slight upward tilt when resting on the ground will help with both.

Josquius

I've got go there. Also avoided spinning out. Still yet to people to grasp how to generate lift. The wings seem all too small whilst the tails are too big. Hmm

You can look and see how big the lift arrow is.  You may also need control surfaces.  You don't need much, even one set is enough for a small plane.

Josquius

aaaaand I've just realised what was going wrong. The elevons kept placing themselves upside down

I decided to get with the trend and give Among Us a go. Fun little game.

Habbaku

My group has been routinely playing that, along with a few others like Barotrauma, Project Winter, and Dead by Daylight.

If anyone in Languish is interested in playing evenings EST and has a functioning microphone, they're welcome to join. We usually have 2-3 spots open for Among Us, for instance.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

The NHL 21 soundtrack list has been released:

I know not one of those bands. :P

Granted, the only NHL game I played was 2002, which had this song that I still like:

(the video is about soccer and zombies, though, not hockey)

Oh, and of course Sum 41's Fat Lip: https://youtu.be/CMX2lPum_pg

The original Rogue by Epyx, which I understand is a rogue-like game, is coming to Steam on October 20th:

Man I remember playing the hell out of Rogue on a buddy's Compaq computer back in the day.  I might be all over this.
