Dragon Age 3 update: I'm - I believe - 2/3 in (without DLCs). Thanks to my obsessiveness in clearing every single sidequest in every area, I find myself overlevelling every area I play in, so combat is even less of a challenge than it normally is - which is probably a good thing since it has very little depth. Nonetheless, I'm enjoying the world-building, the sheer amount of side stories, and just gawking at how beautiful this game is - even throwaway zones are designed with great care and immersiveness. That said, I kinda wish they went smaller and allowed themselves more fleshed out quests, encounters, and level design. Like in many (most?) open world games, it's quantity over quality. Still, I'm enjoying playing it more than I did DA2.

Been playing the 12 Labours of Hercules series of time management games available on steam; surprisingly entertaining.  :bowler:

Rogue One gave me the need to fire good ol' Star Wars: Rebellion on Steam.

Saw the game coming to Steam, but I got it on GOG ages ago.

The lack of new Star Wars games during this new iteration of the saga is most disappointing. And the only one we got is Star Wars Battlefront...

They released a Battle of Scarif DLC. :P

I still want Privateer/Freespace set in the Star Wars universe. :(

I was finally able to get somewhere on Democracy 3. Crushing it in elections with the opposition getting less than a million votes.
It seems the solution in the game as in reality is to spend your way out of a deficit.
Cutting military spending and getting people out of their cars is key too.

Imperium Galactica is on GOG. Is it worth getting? Not in a nostalgic sense, but rather is this a game that holds up and is still worth playing?

I wonder if DirectPlay still works for multiplayer.  :hmm:

we could indeed do with a new x-wing/tie-fighter game. But that's not going to happen I guess

Couple of oldies have popped up on GOG:

https://www.gog.com/game/indiana_jones_and_the_last_crusade
https://www.gog.com/game/armed_and_dangerous
https://www.gog.com/game/stunt_island

Not sure how relevant Stunt Island is when you have GTA5 or Just Cause 3 these days.

Of course that game is almost 25 years old, but the big thing of Stunt Island was all the camera/editing tools. I spent stupidly large amounts of time creating my crash reels.

RPS's game of the year: Devil Daggers. (Available for 4.99 on Steam)

The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.
