It is supposed to look like Skyrim. I kind of like that gloomy look but it might be better left to the northern provinces.

It is rapidly becoming the case that there is a shorter period of time between Daggerfall and Skyrim than between Skyrim and TES:VI.

If TES:VI comes out in 2028 or later, which it almost certainly will, than the time between Elder Scrolls: Arena and Skyrim will be the shorter than the time between Skyrim and TES: VI.

With a time gap that large, I don't think we can really count on much institutional memory making it a worthy entry in the series.
