Champions league always struck me as for people from euro countries with a weak national team. but maybe that's my bias, because like GF the champions league hold no real appeal to me. there's no domestic league/team i follow.

I wasn't arguing for more scoring to increase excitement, but rather to reduce the randomness of outcomes.

Why would you want that?

My perspective is that a competition should be a test to reveal the stronger side. Once in a blue moon a crazy set of circumstances resulting in an upset of a stronger side is exciting, but in soccer/football it happens so often I'm usually just frustrated.

I'm embarrassed. I've been making the mistake of associating with you. It won't happen again. :)

You sound like mono... reflect on that ;) :D

:Embarrass:

Let me clarify: I don't want to see favorites win; I like to see the underdogs do well. But I'd like to see them win by matching the opponent during the balance of play, not by having lightening strike on one of their few chances while their opponent comes up snake eyes.

It really doesn't matter, I know no one is going to make the goals larger.

:P

The only real change i want is no back passing across the center line. the last 15 minutes of any game that isn't tied is so damn boring.

I just hope the eggplants lose.

My TV started to ooze grease when they were playing.
i thought they were in the most exiting games of these euro's. or maybe that because they're the only games i really cared about the outcomes.

I think they stole my silverware through the TV.
once more, that's mexicans :contract: Portuguese don't steal, we're just lazy... and often late. also, we're pork chops. Eggplants are italians. Damn languish and its misuse of ethnic slurs and stereotypes.

But favourites do tend to win, as you saw the winners of the big tournaments are almost always the same teams.

What? No no no. That should never ever happen. The last 15 minutes of the game (even a none-tied, maybe especially those) can be the most exciting minutes all depending on who's got the lead. Many of the most memorable games are memorable exactly because of the last minutes.

it's just 15 minutes of keep away and back passes. can't stand it.
