And German sport fans threw paper serpentines at Ronaldo.

England did surprisingly OK. The referee was French too. They may not embarass themselves yet.

I almost get the impression though that England and France had came to an agreement that they were the two teams who would go through and so a draw would be best.

My two year old daughter really enjoy watching football with us. She watched Denmark-Holland all dressed in the appropriate colors. When Denmark scored she celebrated with us by jumping and yelling etc.

Afterwards she asked if a new goal was about to be scored every time she noticed the ball. After a while she shifted her focus to the players falling (incl. the goalies) to the ground by saying "he's hurt himself... up again!" or "there there" consoling them   

I suspect we are going to hear that a lot when she's watching Portugal tomorrow.
