Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life, son

No plans as I'll just be back from Cali. Maybe wine and The Last Seduction.

I drank because I wanted to drown my sorrows, but now the damned things have learned to swim.

My friends caught something from their students and are sick, so I'm spending time at home reading.
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

The square I live at is traditionally a host to the Warsaw New Year's Eve concert, so also traditionally I'm hosting a party for a group of friends. Champagne, chicken and herbs for the dish I'm making arrived in the morning.

Apparently, an older (gay) friend of mine who is going to attend has recently become a deputy ambassador of a large European nation to Poland so take that Martim Silva.

Didn't know Slargos had entered a new career field. Attaboy! :)
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

If I feel up to it I'll go to a friends for dinner, then out to watch fireworks.  Then back to the friends to get raucously drunk.

Got some cold medicine and am feeling better.
Off to a party soon!
Hopefully the tickets aren't sold out.

Going to Hamburg, meeting some friends during the day and then go for a party in an acquaintance's place. Should be fun.

Slargos is not older than me, Sweden is not a large country and Slargos is not a friend. So the only connection would be him being gay.

Went out last night to avoid the crowds :P Who wants to pay to drink in the same old pub you usually get in for free and mix with drunken strangers?

I will be staying home drinking half-price cava and eating party food while watching the usual crap TV tonight. I'll also be parking my car out of the path of revellers returning home.

dps

Gotta be at work at 7 AM on the 1st.  :(    So, quiet evening at home.  At least I'll get to watch some college football.

Liep

Going to a party in what has been named the best apartment building in the world at the World Architecture Festival. Should be fun to get uncontrollably drunk there.

May get drunk, will definitely be in bed when the ball drops.
