I don't want another game set in present day Liberty City. What I loved about IV was the way you can drive around and get to know the city. Detroit would be fun, but perhaps too ghetto-y?

DC would work well in that regard.

And yeah that's what I liked about San Andrea and IV.

That sucks.  :(

Actually a game called Grand Theft Auto in a car-based city makes sense. :P

Shame they{re extending north to SA.
Would be better if they extended south this time around, include GTA's SD and the border get some Mexican drug war crap going on.

I haven't been at Rockstar for years, so I'm completely out of the loop on V - but I'd be very surprised if there was no Mexican drug war crap going on.

I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Extending north?
LA (whose name escapes me) as the central base at the south of the game world which then goes north from there. Ala San Andreas.  Whereas LA should be the north with the game world going south from there.

San Andreas was the whole "state", containing Los Santos, San Fierro and Las Venturas.

But no San Diego-esque place or border areas or Mexico.

They made a game about that; it's called Red Dead Redemption. Though it could be interesting to revisit the area in a modern day GTA game.

Okay but where do you get that they are "extending north" for this game?
