I'm working the final calculations on how long this much snow would hide Mom's body.
Not long as you guys are forecasted for Rain by like tuesday no?

Coming down hard in the big apple.

QuoteAt 1 p.m., there was 16.5 inches in Newark, N.J., 16.2 inches at LaGuardia Airport in Queens and 14.7 inches in Central Park. Meanwhile, after a midday lull, Washington, D.C.'s official total now stands at 14.9 inches, though nearly twice that has been measured in the surrounding suburbs.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Roads are fine here.  Left the house at 6:45 am and the only road that was a little iffy was my subdivision road.

So you were one of the 85 million Americans 'affected' by this storm.

We just got some flurries here.  Biggest problem has been idiots panic shopping and making it hard to find anything you want on the grocery shelves.

Of course, around here, 1 inch accumulation counts as a major snowfall.

Parking area hasn't been cleared, it's windy and still snowing. I shoveled a bit this afternoon - it was at ~17 inches, and it's more now.  I'm not going anywhere, but fortunately I've got plenty of beer.

Of course I meant coming over there and shovelling for you, not just fixing your [img] tags, but unfortunately all flights from Copenhagen to the east coast are cancelled. :(

You could probably come by ship and there will still be snow by the time you arrive.

Still hoping OPM doesn't screw us over again like they did on Friday.

Yeah, I guess, but around here it wasn't as bad as they were predicting.

I imagine they will, unless they expect Feds to commute by ski.
Virginia is already telling people to stay off the roads today, tomorrow and Monday.

Just had a pretty substantial earthquake.  Knocked the power out too.

Power is on here, but yeah was 7.1 about 200 miles from Anchorage.

Based on the epicenter, and what we felt, Homer probably got knocked around real good.

How did they screw us over?  Closed at noon, shit didnt even start falling until 3ish.  Plenty of time to get the fuck out of Dodge.

And a good rule of thumb is the status of DC public transport;  if the subway and trains aint running, neither is the government.

Ugh, almost worse than any real damage is the worried mom fallout.  She called me within minutes of the quake (and she is in Seattle, and it was 3am there!)...and spent the next hour texting me links to facebook comments on people's quake reports.  My power was out, could not watch TV/play computer games...I just wanted to sleep dammit!

Oh my mother freaked out for my sister but because it was so early instead texted me about it.
