We had the first all day pretty heavy snow in central Texas for the first time since the 1980s on Sunday so that was weird.

Back to our normally scheduled weather this week though. Still kind of a cold January after a weirdly warm one in 2020.

I hope the whole country freezes this weekend though. Maybe the Trumpenriech folks stay home.

Mild and wet here, hints of Spring in some plants?

It's snowing and goddamn cold. I think this is the first proper winter we've had in 5 years.

I'm starting to see some flowers in the garden.
A ton of snow and cold coming in on Saturday, not sure they'll survive.

About 15cm of snow overnight, with more to come. They should be well protected :)

Duque de Bragança

Flooding time in France, before getting negative temperatures again. It's still Pluviôse after all.

It was -33c this morning.  I saw a -41c (with windchill) Sunday morning.

Extreme cold combined with all sorts of indoor recreation activities being closed led to a tough weekend.

Hammered with cold, hammered with snow, and I'm running out of groceries.  :(

It was 40/4.5 here this morning!  Panic in the streets, there has been a run on down coats at Costco.
I have come to believe that the whole world is an enigma, a harmless enigma that is made terrible by our own mad attempt to interpret it as though it had an underlying truth.
