Yeah, I feel Outer Rim is a bit lean without the expansion.

Habbaku

It's basically broken without the expansion, from my experience.  :P
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

I can pick up ST Frontiers today - I ordered it from a UK shop and their delivery via Royal Mail/Austrian Post usually takes under a week.

The ebay purchase is going through the ebay shipping center (I've not bought on ebay in ages, but glad they offer services like this these days). Package was shipped by seller on 17th, arrived with them on 18th, then was processed on the 21st ("Parcel documentation & labeling", "Container closed") .... and nothing since.

If you can pick it up already it's fine, International tracking updates are very hit and miss.

Captain's Chair finally arrived yesterday. :D Been going over the rules; looking forward to sitting down with it and Frontiers later this week. :)

That's the kind of game that I'd love it that it wasn't solo. I guess there must be some house rules somewhere...

It's a two player game, with a robust "bot" system for solo.

Ooooh, somehow I thought it was solo. I'll get it then.

Maybe check reviews. One thing I saw was some saying they think better for just 1 player.
"I've never been quite sure what the point of a eunuch is, if truth be told. It seems to me they're only men with the useful bits cut off."
I drank because I wanted to drown my sorrows, but now the damned things have learned to swim.

I don't know if both players are into Star Trek I think it's ought to be fine.

The bot, by the way, works by skipping most of the rules, it just churns cards and effects based on what you draw from its deck. But I have been having fun.

One player plays the Captain, and the other plays... the Crystalline Entity of the Week?

Yeah, the idea would be to play with a friend of mine that's a huge Trek fan which we often meet for coffee and play games.

Obviously I have only played it solo (apart from double-handing a learning game to see how it's supposed to flow), so I am far from an expert. The game is quite Euro-y in the sense that it is abstract (if you draw Word you can use him, if you don't you can't, you can "beam" a Directive card to a ship to temporarily get rid of it etc), BUT it feels very clear that the designers are into Star Trek, and from my limited knowledge, the cards' abilities match very closely with the lore, so I like it.

I am not sure how much "multiplayer solitaire" it is, there are lots of ways to directly impact your opponent (depending on the captain deck, really), and there are the indirect ways like manipulating the market, but still your main focus is to optimise your own deck.

I don't know, if you are both Trekkies I'd give it a whirl.
