They've quarantined that dog, and will youthinasia it in 10 days.

There are no winners here.  :(

There is a reason why you should keep your dogs on a leash.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

He just wanted to play.  Not his fault toddlers are so squishy.

That's why you keep them in an enclosed yard or on leash.  It's irresponsible not to do that.

Cat went to the vet today for teeth cleaning; vet castigated mildly about not brushing her teeth.  :(

With my cat, "brushing her teeth" would require a chain-mail outfit to avoid fatal blood loss. She does not appreciate having stuff stuck in her mouth, and is happy to pass that lack of appreciation on to you.

I blame the modern boutique pet culture for raising that bar.

If they're eating commercial cat food especially, cats do need to get their teeth cleaned/looked at, so that an infected tooth doesn't spread and turn into sepsis, etc.

My old cat had to have all his teeth extracted by the end, except for his long fangs, so he looked pretty goofy.
