If I were Conservative I would feel betrayed.

I do wonder what the impetus for crossing was.

Just a guess, it looks like PP is going to remain as leader, and that is not a happy thought for some in the Conservative caucus.

In several surveys, the overwhelming first choice for what makes Canada unique is multiculturalism. This, in a world collapsing into stupid, impoverishing hatreds, is the distinctly Canadian national project.

Maybe but on the other hand, if one more guy crosses, I'm sure PP is gone.

What's the main thrust? I'm having some difficulties with Instagram at the moment...

People that are interested in actually doing something need to leave the conservative party because all PP knows how to do is throw a tantrum and act like a child

Seems a reasonable enough take

The other point to make is Ma is new to caucus and so he has now seen first hand what PP is, and the conclusion he made from the observation speaks for itself.

The Beaverton strikes again!

Progressive Conservative joins Progressive Conservative party

QuoteOTTAWA – In a stunning move, progressive conservative MP Michael Ma crossed the floor Thursday to the progressive conservative Liberal Party, just a few weeks after similar minded progressive conservative Conservative MP Chris d'Entremont did the same.

In this case factual reporting by the Beaverton.

If the NDP go with one of the more left leaning leadership candidates the Conservatives are going to be in a bit of a bind. They have gone far right, and the middle (where most Canadian voters feel most comfortable) will have been conceded.

Yeah I think that's exactly what's happening.

I'm not sure what to think of floor crossings in general though.  It kind of feels undemocratic, although maybe it does serve some function in ensuring government remains flexible to adapt an doesn't get too partisan.

On an individual level I will tend to feel a bit betrayed, but on a systemic level I think it's an important part of the parliamentary system - allowing feedback and response in between elections.
