I'm pretty sure they were used in one movie or another in the last 40 years prior to this movie ;)

You could say that about any movie.  Hell, any production going back to the ancient Greeks.

true.  But it's often a reason to bash a good movie.  That and historical realism.  Like Gladiator being bashed because there was never a Roman general who became Gladiator and fought with Commodus in the arena.

At some point, you got to stop overanalyzing and just enjoy the movie.  And I did enjoy Casablanca :)

Sometimes it's not as much the what but the how. Casablanca tells a story many times told under different guises, but it does it magnificently. The acting, directing and dialogues, etc... are just great.

Oh, shit, CDM reminded me in the OTT:

Duel is out on motherfucking blu-ray in May!  Regular sex with blowjobs and Duel in 1080p?  2015 is my fucking year of miracles, fellas.

Watching Duel on the big screen is even better.  :smarty:

Villeneuve is an interesting director; I liked "Prisoners" quite a lot. I'm willing to give this a chance. Blade Runner is one of my favorite films of all time, but I'll try not to expect too much.

The new Alien movie won't be either exactly a sequel, a reboot or a standalone film. It will be a sequel to Aliens and "reboot" the rest of the continuity, erasing Alien 3 and Alien Resurrection (no complains). Do we have a name for this? Rebooquel? Seqboot?

Retcon?
I am, somehow, less interested in the weight and convolutions of Einstein's brain than in the near certainty that people of equal talent have lived and died in cotton fields and sweatshops.

A friend of mine has got his debut film accepted at SXSW. This is the trailer. It's about necrophilia.

NSFW, of course.

Über patriotism.  Check.

French patriotism, American production. That's not typical.
