Also, I'll raise Bruce Willis for contention as "90s action star". Die Hard is his only 80s action film, while he's got the two good Die Hard sequels, Last Man Standing, The Last Boy Scout, The Fifth Element, Armageddon... and a bunch of others in the 90s.

Disagree.  When you're starting a restaurant franchise based on Hollywood blockbusters with Arnold and Sly in 1991, you're already established as an "action star".

Will Smith. Bad Boys, Independence Day, Men in Black. Even crappy films like Wild Wild West and Enemy of the State.

I actually liked Wild Wild West. More so than the Independence Day by far.

I'm guessing it helps a lot not having exposure to the TV show.

Well, one had a lot more Salma Hayek in it than the other, but I don't think that's where you were going with that.   :P

Independence Day is possibly the greatest film of the nineties.

Sure, if it was lying around in a vault for a century.

I have seen Independence Day used as a model in film school.

Though I suppose Sav will be along to say some of Melies' films were better.
