IMHO Sabrina was the tipping point.

Perhaps, but Air Force One was his swan song. Fun campy actioner in the vein of The Fugitive and his Jack Ryan films.

Coriolanus. Wonderful cast, but would it kill them to do 5th Century BC Rome? It's something we've never seen before and the bullshit pseudo modernization is distracting.

"Dysthymia?  Did they get some student from the University of Chicago with a hard-on for ancient Bactrian cities to name this?  I feel cheated."

It's not like Gerard Butler has a problem with wearing man-panties in battle scenes.

That one took a while.  I've been sort of noodling on it for what seems like two or three weeks.

Of Mars and men

I've uprated it as a result of the last couple of watches, basically by the dint of wanting to watch it four times in a year: John Carter is an A.

I guess I should take a look at the movie. You're never wrong, right?

The text had some foul language, btw.

Did you watch the second season, Josephus?  It's fucking fantastic.  Also, the third season introduced Dane DeHaan, they really knew how to pick young actors.

yes. I still think first season was the best, but yeah, Dane did really well as well in that.

John Carter was fantastic.
It is far better for the truth to tear my flesh to pieces, then for my soul to wander through darkness in eternal damnation.

Jet: So what kind of woman is she? What's Julia like?
Faye: Ordinary. The kind of beautiful, dangerous ordinary that you just can't leave alone.
Jet: I see.
Faye: Like an angel from the underworld. Or a devil from Paradise.

Some of you may be familiar with the website veehd.com, a movie/Tv download site.

I came across this user:

http://veehd.com/profile/89488

he has tons of Soviet/Russian films/ tv miniseries that some of you may find intersting. I found two movies based on Boris Akunin books i can't wait to watch. There's tons of really interesting long mini-series' based on WW2 (or the great and patriotic war), dostoyevsky stuff...etc.

If you don't register an account there, use at your own risk...I have heard tales of various adware...but having an account removes that.

Thanks everyone, particularly BA.

I like it.

Is the design I worked out an issue?  Would people prefer a return to black on off-white?  I feel like the pictures don't pop against a white background to nearly the same extent, and suggest that the black background is better for phones, but maybe others don't like reading white text. :hmm:

I have never liked the white text on black. True not as bad on phone, but still don't like it. Maybe just me. I have to adjust the contrast and dim my monitor if I will do a lot of reading, if not, I get a headache.

Christ, IDeo - how many words did you type out on a movie that came out 21 months ago??? :bleeding:
Posts here are my own private opinions.  I do not speak for my employer.

Ideologue

I dunno.  They don't have a handy word count function.
