I've seen it now. And... Holy Shit. They spent all season lulling me into a false sense of expecting mediocrity and then they blow their entire load on the Avatar Wan episode and the Feature Film length Final. It feels like the lull of ATLA season 3 waiting for Sozin's Comet. Just without the character development. TBH, I don't really like Korra as a person and I think she is naively stupid. Then again, I never really liked Aang either, but he was naively principled.

She was hailed as the messiah at the age of three and then home schooled elemental kung fu in a religious compound in rural Antarctica until she was 17 before she left for the big city. Naively stupid is a rather realistic result.

Look, if there was any sign at all that he first and only plan wasn't to charge in without thinking then I'd accept that there was some character growth. Aang was trying to succeed without sacrificing his (silly) principles. Korra is just trying to succeed without using her brain.

After meeting Iroh in the spirit world she consistently makes good decisions, expect perhaps for the one to leave the spirit portals open at the end. We'll have to see how that turns out.

I working on it.  Am about halfway through writing about The Counselor, which the more I think about the more I love and the more I hate the critical community at large for being jackasses that have, with the sole and obvious exceptions of Gravity and 12 Years a Slave, consistently turned up their noses at the year's best films.  I bet that French lesbo porno ain't as good as it's been made out to be either.
