So I watched Anna Karenina yesterday. Definately an interesting take, though i thought the first 30 minutes with all the quick scene changes and operatic like quality was actually distracting, but seems as though the director toned that down for the last hour and a half.  I thought it was entertaining and worth watching, l think though it lacked the feel of a Russian story. Wasn't dark and moody enough. If I was a school teacher teaching the book, this would't be the film version I'd show them.

Personally, I can't imagine that Affleck is worse than Val Kilmer as Bats.

Val Kilmer was an excellent Batman, perhaps one of the best.  The problem is he was a terrible Bruce Wayne.

And that's the crux of casting Batman. You want someone who's a believable business tycoon, but also an action hero. On top of that, you need someone who has a certain gravitas, because Batman in general is a no-nonsense hard ass who's swallowed a half dozen broom sticks.

That's why Christian Bale was worked so well, he could deal with both characters.  Until he did that bullshit with his voice that seemed to get worse over time.

Probably unavoidable.  Luckily, You're Next is a comedy about the uselessness of rich people, so everyone can enjoy.  Wait.

Finished Spartacus (TV show). It is totally decent. And edumacational for the masses.

In anticipation of The World's End, watched Hot Fuzz last night.  What a great movie.

I think it's better than Shaun of the Dead, and by the trailers, I can't see how The World's End can be better.  Hot Fuzz is pure genius on so many levels.
