Habbaku

The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

1/2x+7.

I pegged Yi as being around Seedy's age.  But then, I put Cal, Yi and Seedy all in the same age group.  I think Cal is a bit younger then Seedy.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

Cal is young.  Seeds is positively antediluvian.
PDH!

Admiral Yi

I very much date back to the time before things got all diluved.

Having met both, I can safely say that Seeds is not that old.

Seedy is about 40, Cal 35.  I'm guessing you are in between.

I am well on my way to attaining the emperor's permission to reincarnate as a nihonjin in the next life.
That's not how it works.  The Japanese look down on otaku just as much as most Languishites do.
I do not hate you, nor do I love you, but you are made out of atoms which I can use for something else.

Lettow77

Not quite so much as that, Neil. Although it is true there is a stigma, it'd be hard to replicate the ignorance and distaste Languishites in particular bear.

But of course, the power level must be hidden- even in Japan. It wouldn't do to go about underestimating the acceptance otaku-dom receives in Japan, but its still improprietary to embrace it in public.

But attaining the pure land and achieving the auspicious conjunction is a spiritual matter related only peripherally related to being a weeaboo.
It can't be helped...We'll have to use 'that'

Admiral Yi

Just watched Resident Evil 4.  What a silly ending.  Oh golly, I can barely wait for the next installment.

You are really a weird little guy, you know that?  I went to a high school with well over a thousand students and everyone thought I was the weirdest guy there, so me saying that is really something.

Yeah, but saying what?

watched American Haunting.  I don't think this one iwll really go anywhere, just meander around various plot devices until cancellation.
PDH!

So, the Breaking Bad finale...everyone is on about how awesome it was and...it was rather good.
But I saw the whole suicide bomb thing coming a mile away.

I thought it was pretty good. I was more blown away, heh, by the twist at the end re: the poison.

Great show, next season should be interesting to see Walt trying to step into Gus's shoes.

I don't like ruthless Walt.  :(
