So is this Terranova actually good?
It sounded awful but there seems to be a lot of talk about it.

It is really really terrible. But it's about Dinosaurs so I have to watch. After hating myself for watching another episode of this turkey I come here to vent.

I stopped having to watch something because it had Dinosaurs in it about the time I was 12.
when was that? Jurassic Park 2 or 3? :D

With Terra Nova I like the story line. Small colonies of humans trying to make it,  survive and thrive, in a new world. Brings up all sorts of societal, governing and survival issues to be grappled with.
I like that too, but I disliked the episodic tone used so far, instead of building a story arc, like Babylon 5, or Deep Space Nine in the latter years.
And there's a lack of humor compared to shows like SG1 or SG:Atlantis.
And next week's episode has me worried.

I'm not saying it's bad, but I don't think it will be that great either if they keep going the same way.  I'm starting to believe Neil and Grey Fox...

It's televisual so I'll put it here: I'm watching the Red vs Blue that I missed/ignored since season 3.  Up into season 6 now.  This is a really good show.  Is it the longest running webseries?

I did watch some of the newest stuff too--still good, but they got really self-indulgent after getting all the editing tools they needed to basically make Halo cutscenes, huh?

I'm 30 now, so I reckon it would be sometime in 1993.
I've given it serious thought. I must scorn the ways of my family, and seek a Japanese woman to yield me my progeny. He shall live in the lands of the east, and be well tutored in his sacred trust to weave the best traditions of Japan and the Sacred South together, until such time as he (or, indeed his house, which will periodically require infusion of both Southern and Japanese bloodlines of note) can deliver to the South it's independence, either in this world or in space.  -Lettow April of 2011

New series of An Idiot Abroad. It has me giggling. Carl is actually being quite profound, he is visiting the famous Prince Phillip worship tribe and he comes to the conclusion that what they're doing is weird but it keeps them busy, its a hobby, and at least they're worshiping someone that actually exists unlike most other people- they can send him a letter and all that sort of thing.
But I do wonder...this is the second or third time I've seen those same individuals of that same tribe on TV. And one of them does speak really good English. Part of me really does suspect they're doing this for the  TV money and publicity.

I love Karl! He takes the Trans Siberian Express in the second episode.

watched "Once upon a time in Anatolia" at VIFF last night (by the firector of "Distant", "Three Monkeys"... it's sort of a "Memories Of Murder" filtered through "Curb Your Enthusiasm" kinda... sorta... It will test your patience at almost 3 hours but imho is worth a watch. Not Ceylan Nuri Bilge's best film but better than most all 2.5 hour plus movies I've seen in the last year still. The guy really understands that it's a "Motion Picture". Stunning photography of nowhere in the middle of the night through much of it.

7.654 diatribes that were possibly cadged from Werner Herzog about the futility of life given in the darkness while looking for a drunkenly buried corpse outta 10

not surprised

Of course, considering how short British series are, it almost lasted as many episodes as its predecessor. :D
