I remember a Norwegian film called Boyvoiced which was rather amusing. Sort of like Spinal Tap but about a shitty boy band.
And Max Manus was so-so.

Icelandic - Not seen enough of them to make a sound judgment.

There is alot of really poor mediocre stuff. The good stuff includes

"Reykjavik 101", "Angels of the Universe" and Night Shift/Day Shift/Prison Shift is the only stuff that can really be considered decent or good from the past 10-15 years.
First Maxim - "There are only two amounts, too few and enough."
First Corollary - "You cannot have too many soldiers, only too few supplies."
Second Maxim - "Be willing to exchange a bad idea for a good one."
Second Corollary - "You can only be wrong or agree with me."

A terrorist which starts a slaughter quoting Locke, Burke and Mill has completely missed the point.
The fact remains that the only person or group to applaud the Norway massacre are random Islamists.

The only good thing coming from Iceland's TV/Cinema industry is Lazy Town, and I've said it all.

Is this a trick post? Everyone knows Scandinavia has been resting on it laurels since that hack from Sweden hit it big.

Bergman?  :hmm:

and basically anything without Lars von Trier

Antichrist put me off European cinema for a while.  It's going to be a bit before I try it again, Lars or no Lars.

Nichijou- four episodes in, counting episode 0. It's upbeat and cheerful. Azumanga's successor.
It can't be helped...We'll have to use 'that'

Antichrist is only representative of von Trier's sick and twisted mind, not of the whole opus of European cinema. Shall we judge all of American cinema through Larry, the cable guy?

No.  Judge it by Armageddon and Pearl Harbor: big, dumb, and patriotic.

The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya- Very good. Though my theory of what was going on was sadly very wrong, would have made things much cooler and darker. Haruhi in general has been a great discovery for me, I expected a shallow anime to entertain myself for a little while and got a rather brilliant sci fi which would work equally well as a western live action.

I like the Lazy Town/ Lil Jon mix.  :)

And directed by Michael Bay?

Norwegian - Mainly suffering under a lack of a broad specter of actors. More often than not, foreign actors are imported for big parts, and most good movies come from low-budget buddy collaborations that finally are realised. Norwegians love nature, and you can't have a movie without at least a fjord or some midnight sun.

I have tasted I Am Dina and I have been positively convinced not to try anything colonial again.

Not, but we can positively judge all Italian artsy movies through Salo, or the viability of Serbia as a civilized society worth to be preserved for mankind through A Serbian Film.
