The first one was ok, as far as video game movies go. And definitely not the worst MK movie. Had some cool fight scenes. Sanada was in it too. Main character was out of place and an odd choice.

It was intentional it wasn't going to win any awards, but there are far worse video game movies. It's a enjoyable way to waste a few hours

@Viper Did you get San-Ku-Kaï? It's as relevant for –my– Albator generation, as Albator (Captain Harlock obviously) or Goldorak (Grendizer). Hiroyuki Sanada, a protégé of Sonny Chiba, was in San-Ku-KaÏ (Message from Space TV series).

Looking at Wikipédia now, it says it was only on Super Écran, a cable channel.  We did no have cable until we became permanently settled here around 1986-1987 and there was an ice storm that destroyed our antenna.  Everyone in the area was in the same situation as us, and pretty much everyone got cable at the same time.  My aunt, my grandparents, some of my neighbours.

Thanks. If it was only shown on cable, whereas here it was on free-to-air terrestrial TV, it could not get the same influence or fame.
Re-runs were on cable but that was not until the mid' 90s over here.

Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition

Not groundbreaking, but deals with the past troubles and uneasy periods :DiAnno, Bayley, Dickinson in and out.
The – upscaled– archival footage is worth it for fans or if only just to (re)discover Iron Maiden, from the very beginning; even references the Winter of Discontent plus a possible second one.
Fan interviews are also interesting, less for perhaps for the music business fans such as Gene Simmons despite his jab at grunge (I smiled).

Limited screenings on cinemas here but your kilometrage may vary.

It's in select theaters in Canada, a few in Ontario, in BC, maybe other provinces, but none in Quebec.
