The first two seasons of Fargo are great! The next two are...less good, but still worthy of watching, at least.
The medievals were only too right in taking nolo episcopari as the best reason a man could give to others for making him a bishop. Give me a king whose chief interest in life is stamps, railways, or race-horses; and who has the power to sack his Vizier (or whatever you care to call him) if he does not like the cut of his trousers.

Government is an abstract noun meaning the art and process of governing and it should be an offence to write it with a capital G or so as to refer to people.

Yeah was gonna say same. First two seasons are well done. Gets silly afterwards.

Saw Top Gun Maverick today. It's utterly nonsensical (the mission, in particular) but pretty entertaining once you get to the end.

Admiral Yi

Rewatching The Crown.  One very jarring note I had not noticed before in an otherwise superb production is that the SS honor guard at Phillip's sister's funeral is marching completely out of step.

It's a blockbuster.  On a scale of 1 to "I'll send oil drillers to drill a hole through an asteroid and plant explosives in it", I rate it at 5.

The mission is essentially the Star Wars trench run with F-18s. It's very silly.

It had me thinking how the yanks would go about it in the real world... I suppose a massive SEAD barrage and then move in to bomb?

No but... they turn off the laser guiding and launch the killshot manually. - I know imitation is the biggest form of flattery, but come on

Big Boys on Channel 4/All 4. An absolute delight.
Let's bomb Russia!

They would likely strike before it reaches that point, with covert intelligence operations to kill the scientists.

Season 3 of The Orville is now starting to be available on Hulu/Disney+ :)

That show is better than Discovery.
Colonel Caliga is Awesome.

QuoteTom Hardy's Taboo Season 2 Finally Has A Planned Filming Start Date
The long-awaited second season of Tom Hardy's Victorian show Taboo is expected to begin shooting towards the end of next year, as per its lead writer.

Tom Hardy's gothic Victorian TV show Taboo has finally been given a date for when it might start shooting its long-awaited season 2. Originally airing on FX in 2017, Taboo is about James Delaney, a mystical and enigmatic figure played by Hardy who returns to London after a long stay in Africa following the death of his father. Also starring Oona Chaplin, Jessie Buckley, and Jonathan Pryce, Taboo ran for 8 episodes and picked up generally favourable reviews. Showrunner Steven Knight, with whom Hardy had previously worked on Peaky Blinders, has stated that he intends Taboo to continue for two more seasons, one of which had already been confirmed back in 2017.

Now it looks as if the wait is almost over and fans of the show can get excited again, as Knight explains that they have a date when they expect to start filming on season 2.

Great! I thought it would not have a second season.

Yeah, that's some unexpected - and appreciated - news. I liked the first season and I thought the show was dead.
