For All Mankind - Season 2

It was ok, they doubled down a bit too much on the domestic drama storylines, season 1 had a better balance and more pace to it. Still enough cold war in space bits to make for an entertaining ride. Also, a bit forced how they put back the same crew from season 1 in the missions, even though 10 years have passed.

I'm reading that Moore has planned a 7-season arc for this, but I'm not sure Apple TV is going to last that long...

No, he hasn't.  He just says he has.  Witness Battlestar Galactica, which started out great and then flopped around because he didn't have a plan past 2.5 seasons.  Worst ending evar.
Its about the characters!
PDH!

Nor arguing about those three, but the 13th Warrior deserves more recognition, despite its troubled history.

What troubled history?
Long story here:https://collider.com/the-13th-warrior-what-went-wrong/
Re-shoots, conflicts between producer and director etc. = troubled history.

Crappy link though.
QuoteThe 90s Hollywood logic of equating a Spanish actor to an Arab character because they both have brown skin is indefensible, but at least they didn't cast a white guy

Antonio Banderas is from Andalusia (hello Al-Andalus).
Well, he speaks Spanish, not Arabic, so that apparently matters a lot.
I still don't understand why they cast Americans or British to speak French and it does not matter.  I also don't understand why I should be offended by that.
Although, to hear a British speak French passing as a Montrealer...  Well, ok, that is disturbing :P

Unfair criticism.  he didn't plan ahead for the last 6 human looking Cylons, true, but he had an arc for the show.  Ultimately, though, the studio prevailed and they were forced to make it less serialized, more episodic so that it could pick up new viewers.

The ending was bad though, I agree.  But I think it's mostly what he envisioned from the beginning.

Adult Flintstones sequel

Quote"Bedrock" is set two decades after the original cartoon, with Banks voicing a twentysomething Pebbles
Meet the Flintstones — the new Flintstones, that is — the modern Stone Age family at the center of a new adult animated series voice-starring Elizabeth Banks and currently in development at Fox.

Titled "Bedrock," the comedy is a sequel to the classic "The Flintstones" cartoon and flashes forward to see the characters 20 years after the events of the original Hanna-Barbera series.

Per its official description, "Bedrock" catches up with the Flintstone family two decades after the original, with Fred on the brink of retirement and 20-something Pebbles (voiced by Banks) embarking on her own career. As the Stone Age gives way to a shiny and enlightened Bronze Age, the residents of Bedrock will find this evolution harder than a swing from Bamm-Bamm's club.

That show was a hit in Quebec :)
It was dubbed with local talent (unlike today's shows :( ), using a Quebec accent, and every proper name were made in French, and many cultural references were redone to match Quebec of the 60s.  It was hilarious.  A new channel in the early 90s (TQS) aired the cartoon during lunch time, instead of the traditional news bulletin of other networks.  It was a hit while I was in university. :D  My dad always hated cartoon, but he couldn't help himself laugh a few times when I put it on at home :D

Schindler's List. I expected it to be good, and it was. It managed to keep my attention all the way through which was pleasant. I didn't make out. But I could use one of the floozies from the first nightclub scene.

Speaking Arabic does not matter a lot when speaking to Vikings however.  :P Some broken Latin will do.
The linguistic transition aspect was handled well enough in the movie, at least by the low standards of Hollywood.

In Nomads, another McTiernan movie, minor one , Pierce Brosnan also attempts to speak French.

Picard speaking French was quite funny as well.  :D

It was also a hit with elementary students coming home to have lunch.

Lots of cartoon are still dubbed in Quebec. It's Netflix that skews the perception since it dubs french in France & English in... Montreal.

Unless it is a gritty gloomy Gen-Z dystopia like a WB production.

God I hope not. But I get emails about it now and then, there is always some problem with my payment and they need more details.

It'll be fine.  The British authorities are toothless...they've been demanding details from me to avoid tax evasion charges for months now.
