The season finale of His Dark Materials is perfect. I wish the rest of the show was more like that (or the episode before, which was also quite good). Nonetheless, looking forward season 2.

Sheilbh

Gentleman Jack. Or lesbian Poldark in Yorkshire.

It's kind of great, very sprightly and impressive to have a heroine who is both a landlady and an opponent of the Great Reform Act

The Hitcher (2007 version). Young couple pick up a hitcher. Haven't seen the old version so can't compare. Sophia Bush is so fucking hot. Sean Bean
dies.
:o
Women want me. Men want to be with me.

Upstart Crow - Christmas special.

Enjoyable, wish I'd caught more of the three short series made.   :(

I haven't seen Knives Out yet. Current favorite for the year is Midsommar.

Fuck there are some slim pickings on that list.

2010 True Grit

2011 Bridesmaids and perhaps the Harry Potter as a collective.

2012 Django Unchained and Moonrise Kingdom

2013 Gravity

2014 Grand Budapest and The Guadians of the Galaxy

2015 Revenant and Mission: Impossible -- Rogue Nation, mostly just good fun though

2016 La La Land was OK

2017 The three on the list I've seen were pretty meh

2018 Avengers: Infinity War for the spectacle

But it's a rubbish list, there's been many great movies this decade that isn't named there. Eg. all of Villeneuves.

How is Mad Max: Fury Road no on that list?

That list is abysmal, some years half of the movies listed are superhero films

Gonna go and make my list for 2019:

1-Parasite
2-The Lighthouse
3-Portrait of a Lady on Fire
4-Marriage Story
5-Irishman
6-Us
7-Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
8-Shadow
9- Ash is Purest White
10- Dolor y Gloria (Pain & Glory)

I'm still missing a few 2019 movies which have got some pretty good reviews (Little Women, Uncut Gems, Under the Silver Lake...), plus some yuro/asian stuff I have to catch up with.

Fighting with My Family (2019)

Fun movie by Stephen Merchant. Definitely stream-worthy.
