Mac and Me scarred my childhood. At that age you're not supposed to notice when movies are terrible and even then I found it terrible

I was prepared for some of it, but the total absurdity of the McDonalds scene and the final confrontation left me stunned.

Mac and Me is at best a so-bad-it's-good movie, something you are not supposed to notice at that age.  :P

Never actually watched it.

Is it so bad it's funny, or just so bad it's bad, like the Star Wars Christmas Special?

It's a shameless ripoff of ET combined with shameless product placement combined with completely tone deaf scenes that have no business being in a supposed kid's movie.

If you think that sounds funny you are right.

While I can agree with you that the Star Wars Holiday Special is more painful to watch than hilariously bad, it has its cheesy moments, and has to be seen to believed when one knows how possessive is Lucas with his properties.

Mac and Me, IMHO, is funnier, the reasons frunk gave are good examples.

Timecop

I still can't find any flaws with this movie.

There is a huge flaw.  No way can you have time travelling cops, it would wreak utter havok with public pension liabilities.

Another flaw: the presence of Jean Claude Van Damme.

That's a plus in my book. Timecop is the only opportunity we have to see JCVD in a decent movie.

Bloodsport disagrees.

Bloodsport is a cheesy movie that we like because it's cheesy and over the top, not because it's good.

Timecop is a film that with a more respected actor would enjoy a much higher reputation. It's actually pretty decent.

Netflix will do a Cowboy Beebop live action series. Twitter is losing its shit, as if they're forced to watch it, or as if it replaced the original anime.

I think it's a challenge to adapt an extremely popular anime into a live action series, and I don't see what it would add to the franchise, but I can still watch the original if I want to. I don't get this "you're ruining it" mental breakdown mindset among fans of, uhm, most anything.

Because they'll be remaking Casablanca with CGI Nazis next.
